I really like Maggie but don’t like Margaret. I love Maggie Alice but DH thinks she would need to be Margaret Alice as Maggie isn’t a “proper” name IYSWIM.
what’s the mumsnet verdict?

Just to clarify I'm not naming my daughter Effy I was just saying I liked it. It's interesting to know what it's a nn for as like mentioned I've only ever heard it from Elizabeth (skins) and I know names can have different nn I've just never heard of it for others ones so glad I made the post.

I'm not too sure about Maggie Alice but if you like it, go for it there's stranger names around.

Alice Margaret would be so much nicer.

Maggie sounds like Maggi and is similar to Maggot.
