Powers comes to mind!

Eileen101 · 17/06/2022 14:10

Yes! Family friend's son is called Austin, love it.

Blue2022 · 17/06/2022 14:20

I like it. I didn't even think of Austin Powers until PP mentioned it.

Frida9 · 17/06/2022 14:25

I quite like this name, always think it sounds quite American to me a bit like Harvey.
Go for it unless your surname is Martin

Marymary987 · 17/06/2022 14:25

I really like it. Not too popular but easy to pronounce and spell.

RevoltingHumanHead · 17/06/2022 14:43

I know a couple of 80-something Irish men called Austin. So to me it's a grandad name but not one of the twee ones. I like it.

HoppingPavlova · 17/06/2022 14:49

In my mind I’d always silently follow it up with Powers and have an internal giggle. Not proud of it but it’s the honest truth.

darlingdodo · 17/06/2022 15:11

Clouded by the fact that the only one I know is a right twat

Luredbyapomegranate · 17/06/2022 15:16

It just makes me think of a guy washing his car in the 50s.. must be the car
Or Austin powers obvs

I don't really like it, but it's not terrible.

jossysgiant · 17/06/2022 15:25

Alllegro one of the worst cars ever made particularly the one that was turd brown

woodhill · 17/06/2022 15:27

Like it

Ravenclawdropout · 17/06/2022 15:29

Harvey is an old name in England from the Norman French Herve.

mathanxiety · 17/06/2022 15:40

Love it.

I believe it's related to Augustine. Could be wrong.

Austin is a truly lovely city with a great music scene.

SirChenjins · 17/06/2022 15:44

Powers - yeah, baby! Grin

Orphlids · 17/06/2022 17:52

I really like it. It’s a really happy, jaunty sounding name, I think, but with a serious undertone, so would work well in all walks of life. I don’t think the Powers association is a bad one - Austin Powers was gorgeous, wasn’t he?!

Fashiontatts · 17/06/2022 17:53

Love it! I had it on the list for our DS but DH wasnt a fan!

DinoWoman · 17/06/2022 19:51

I just think of Austin Powers.

KirstenBlest · 17/06/2022 20:08

Check how it goes with the surname.
Austin Healey got away with it but he was a top cricketer. Austin Morris might not get away with it, and might get nn like All-aggro

Aquamarine1029 · 17/06/2022 20:09

Beautiful name, I absolutely love it. I had a great great uncle named Austin. He was lovely.

bobbythevet · 17/06/2022 20:21

Texas

Mandatorymongoose · 17/06/2022 20:40

I don't mind it as a name but I know one who is a bit dizzy and affectionately nicknamed "Lost in"

AssignedSlytherinAtBirth · 17/06/2022 20:43

Texas for me too. I'm not keen. I did know one once though and he was a bit of alright...

HewasH2O · 17/06/2022 20:44

...Healey. slightly squashed looking, very opinionated former rugby player.

Kite22 · 17/06/2022 21:10

Austin Healey was a rugby player, not a cricketer.....

I don't like it as I just think cars - probably relate to growing up where everyone worked "at the Austin".

KirstenBlest · 17/06/2022 21:25

Sorry, yes rugby player, won Srickly. Very tired today
