Caspian with the nickname Ian? Maybe McCoy or Altair as a middle name?

I love the name Caspian and wouldn't have thought Ian was a short version either! I'd go for Cass or Casp as a shortened version which I think sounds really cool Smile

Caspian is an awesome name. Ian isn't offensive but it's not in the same league. I can see why you're not keen on Cass as a nn for a boy. Just call him Caspian? Not everyone shortens their name. Sebastian has a similar vibe, nn Seb.

Caspian is a nice name but you shouldn't use Ian as a nickname.

@tearinghairout I would 100% be down for him just being Caspian. My son never shortens his name either. My daughter however is 50/50 with her nickname vs full name.

I like Caspian but it’s pointless to use a lovely name like that and than a boring nn like Ian which is a name in its own right. If you like Ian then just use that.

KirstenBlest · 28/04/2022 10:31

Yan might be a better nn

FlamingoDust · 29/04/2022 19:52

Love Caspian! Not keen on Ian though!
