Disagreeing with husband

Hi

After multiple miscarriages and a difficult pregnancy our baby girl arrived over a week ago. The problem I now have is she ha no name. There is absolutely nothing that husband and I can agree on. He likes names that sound good in multiple languages, Cleo, Celia etc, I prefer plain and simple like Jenny and Charlotte. Help?!? How do we come to an agreement and can anyone suggest a name we might not of considered? I am getting really very upset by the situation

Clara

Sarah works well internationally as its biblical, I think he should compromise and accept that as its a family name for you

I love all of his list except Sara.

Cora and Clara are similar. What about Cara?

Fleur and fern are similar. Florian

Ruth and Ren similar

Pippa and Penelope. Interestingly Pippa is a nick name for Penelope so could be Penelope on form and Pippa day to day.

Josephine can be shortened to Josie which isn’t to dissimilar to Jenny.

Jemima

How about ..
Mary - lots of nick names including Mabel, Maisie, May, Molly
Elizabeth - same
Alice and ask your husband to choose the second name after his grandmother.

No, puddleduck nickname is too easy.

Think about initials too CAT, DOG, NIT and lots of others

From all the names listed from you both that I like best:

Penelope

I also loved Eleanor. Would you both not consider Elle or Ella or Ellie?

New30 · 18/04/2022 13:03

Rosa or Zoe? I could maybe nn Rosa Rosie?

Rosa is lovely.

Both Rosa and Zoe are lovely

I second Penelope no Penny as it's on his list, and you have Jenny. So Penny could be a compromise.

Otherwise, I do honestly think you get the final say. You carried the baby, birthed it, and presumably (?) the baby is getting DP surname.
