I like Roland alot but not Roly. Surely that would cause bullying galore if he isn't anything but extremely skinny and tall

Grange Hill is all I think if when I hear Roland.

It's a great name, and Roly is a good diminutive.

Most of the people he meets will never have heard of Grange Hill or Roland Rat.

This is seriously cute but maybe more in like a dog name way. I do love an R name though! I think it’s the best letter. What about something similar but not quite Roland?

The fact people are on board with it is swaying me, maybe it could be cute in a child name way too. I say go for it, better to be bold than be the same as everyone else. He could probably get a few different nicknames out of it later in life
