I know a Paulette, but she has abbreviated to lettie

stimpyyouidiot · 13/03/2022 20:49

I know a Paulina

NoSquirrels · 13/03/2022 20:53

Know a fab Paulette- but I’m personally not a fan of feminised male names (Paulette/Pauline; Nigella; Erica; Edwina; Henrietta etc)

ImInStealthMode · 13/03/2022 20:56

Paulette...

Paulette
sanityisamyth · 13/03/2022 20:57

Sounds like a brand of sanitary products.

Zillamop · 13/03/2022 21:03

I think it's OK, although Paula sounds more refreshing to me.

I like some of the other -ette names like Juliette, Colette, Annette, Georgette, Linette.

Someonemustknowtheanswer · 13/03/2022 21:04

What's the point of growing a poor baby for 9 months just to call it Paulette.

Snowbell99 · 13/03/2022 21:56

Lilette reminds me of Gilette :)

I watched "Grease" several times and remember her face but would never have remembered the name.

To me it is a very 1920s French-chic sort of name.

Thanks for reminding me of Lettie, I actually love it.

I also love medieval Lettice but wouldn't use it for obvious reasons.

@CastleBeckett

Bend and Snap!!
it has a 98% success rate you know.
ISmellBurnings · 13/03/2022 22:09

No, awful.

demoness · 14/03/2022 01:20

To me it seems dated and it lacks namesakes or references to make it appealing.

user1477391263 · 14/03/2022 02:58

Hmmm, it could grow on me.

mathanxiety · 14/03/2022 03:58

Gorgeous, and I agree it is French 1920s chic.

Thoosa · 14/03/2022 04:01

I prefer Claudette.

Kanaloa · 14/03/2022 04:02

It’s nice. I quite like Collette too.

80 year old bossy French matron, that's the only Paulette I know

Munchcrip · 14/03/2022 15:44

First thing that came to my mind:

Snowbell99 · 14/03/2022 15:52

Paulette Goddard was a silent film actress so I associate it with old Hollywood glamour. For the person who asked for a namesake, it's whom I think of.

I never saw Grease 2 only Grease. Didn't know the sequel was so commonly watched.

Hahahaa at the video. For some reason I like the song.

Makes me think of Paulette from Legally Blonde too. She's a great character, though, so it wouldn't necessarily be a no from me!

Gowithme · 14/03/2022 16:54

To me it sounds like the make of a campervan, an old clapped out one. I like Claudette and love Lettie though.

nitsandwormsdodger · 14/03/2022 16:58

Nice

AmandaStaveleysBlackNWhiteArmy · 14/03/2022 17:16

Grease 2 is far superior in every single way to the original film Wink

demoness · 14/03/2022 20:19

@Snowbell99 Interesting, I had never heard of Paulette Goddard before reading this thread. She was indeed very glamorous.
