Thea
Heidi

Hello!

Sybil - I really love it, it should make a comeback. It's so cool and mysterious. But I would spell it Sibyl, like the word. Sybil is fine too, though.
Imogen - feels sort of tired and a tiny bit dated. I know it's Shakespearean but I met a few born in the 90s and 00s and even though it wasn't extremely common I associate it with women in their 20s. I also don't like the sound. It doesn't sound very pretty to me and I dislike Immy as a nickname (I know an Imogen "Immy"). It also makes me think of "image" and "innocent".
Merryn - it sounds sort of harsh and old to me, sorry. Like an old witch or elderly woman.
Ramona - I never really liked the sound. I prefer just Mona even though depending on your accent it may not sound nice. I prefer Romy, Mona or similar names.
Sabrina - I like it. It's cool and witchy. But it is 80s dated where I live and many people associate it with mean girls here for some reason (I have asked about it on boards). Sabina is nice!
Lois - I don't get the appeal of this as it sounds incredibly ugly to me (sorry!). I like older names but this one doesn't appeal.
Sienna - I love this but I prefer it as Siena (like the city in Italy). Sienna makes me think a bit of Sienna Miller and I am not a fan.
Tess - too harsh.
Dora - sort of cute. Dora the Explorer.

JungleJimbo · 10/03/2022 16:38

Sybil- I don't like it personally
Imogen- it's ok, bit bland
Merryn- lovely
Ramona- not for me
Sabrina- nice
Lois- not a fan
Sienna- meh
Tess- love it, and Tessa
Dora- the explorer

Other suggestions-
Miriam
Mari ('marry')
Zelda
Camilla

Sybil & Imogen are the only ones that stand out to me & they're not overused too.

LaTangerina · 10/03/2022 17:12

Sienna is nice too but quite popular imo.

LaTangerina · 10/03/2022 17:13

Meandthesky · 10/03/2022 21:39

Sybil - not a fan
Imogen - really love it
Merryn - my favourite from your list, I absolutely love it
Ramona - love it although my first thought is the Ramona Quimby books (not a bad thing)
Sabrina - teenage witch, especially with the more recent Netflix show as well as the 90s one
Lois - like it
Sienna - bit 00s, it’s fine but not as nice as your other choices
Tess - I like it
Dora - its nice in itself but much too “the explorer”

Gardeningcreature · 11/03/2022 00:13

My favourites are Sabrina and Lois.
Dora just screams explorer to me.
Ramona even nd me if The Remones.
Sybil will always be Fawlty Towers
The others are ok.
Tess never seems like a proper name.

Gardeningcreature · 11/03/2022 00:14

The Ramones that should be.

Teaandcrumpets95 · 11/03/2022 00:20

Sybil- don't love it but don't hate it, feel like it would grow on me over time.
Imogen- really like this very sweet very cute
Merryn - hate it. Feels like a pronunciation/ spelling nightmare tbh.
Ramona- unique but not a huge fan.
Sabrina- really like this.

Lois- lovely but maybe overdone in my opinion.
Sienna- not a fan.
Tess- like it but would opt for tessa as feels stronger.
Dora- just makes me think of Dora the explorer 😂 like Cora as an alternative though
