Phoebe or Cosima

My husband and I had complete agreement for our first daughter, we picked her name before she was conceived and didn’t change the entire way through.

This time…it’s a bit different. I like Cosima, for sentimental reasons and a link with my first daughter’s name. My husband prefers Phoebe. We’ve narrowed it down to those two.

They both have their drawbacks (one people don’t always know how to pronounce, the other people don’t always know how to spell). But they’re both beautiful.

If you had to pick one of them, which would it be?

(P.S. I also like Zelda, but first daughter has a Z name. Would that be a bit much?)

Thanks all!

Cosima 100%

Phoebe is just so dull!

Cosima is beautiful and I think it goes brilliantly with Zia - like poetry. I think the pronunciation of Cosima is fairly intuitive (unlike your Irish name, which is also beautiful but more difficult.)

Not a fan of Phoebe. As someone else has mentioned, it sounds awful in an Estuary English accent (which I have before someone accuses me of snobbery... Fay-bay) and reminds me of Feeble.

Not keen on either. Much prefer Hebe.

Cosima is nicer than Phoebe.
I'm in Ireland too and I think Phoebe would be unusual.
I prefer Réaltín Smile
But Holly is the nicest.

Zia is a great name!

I do prefer Cosima but I think Phoebe works brilliantly with your daughter’s name too. Both short and bright.

Cosima feels a bit aristocratic but it’s such a beautiful name.

How about Hebe?

Cosima. Gorgeous name. And Delphine (Orphan Black fan)
