I posted here a while back about the name Primrose Adelaide. I’ve accepted that it’s a love it or hate it name, lol. Most here weren’t keen on it. However, when I asked a local name group I am on they overwhelmingly preferred Primrose. (300 votes vs 70 votes) So I wanted to ask here again your opinions on which you prefer - Marguerite Vesper [lastname] or Primrose Adelaide [lastname]?
Reasons why we love both the name:
We both love the name Marguerite! We both have sentimental attachments to it. Margot is the diminutive of Marguerite, so her nickname would be Margot. We adore the name Margot but it is just so popular that I don’t want that to be her full name. My kids, Lochlan and Elowyn, both have that long O sound so Margot would fit perfectly. Our daughters would be called Margot and Winnie which I think sounds precious together. (Elowyn’s nickname is Winnie or occasionally Wynn)
The meaning of my name is Tree Meadow and Elowyn means Elm Tree. Marguerite means Pearl so all the girl names would be not on the nose nature names.
My favorite name has been Vesper since I was in my teens. Vesper means ‘Evening Star’ and the stars are very special to us.
But I also love Primrose! It's not the typically long names that I prefer but I love it so much. Her nickname would be Prim, which fits in great with our kids nicknames Loch, Wynn, and Prim. We’ve also considered the nickname Posy - so Winnie and Posy. It also is a nature name, just a bit more on the nose. But I hate the nickname Rose. My husband's family have used the middle name Rose to death and that makes me hesitant.
Adelaide would be in honor of my husband (who hasn't had the chance to be so in our other two kids names, although our kid names were his top choices so he's thrilled about their names) His nickname growing up was Addy-boy so Adelaide (Addy being a common nickname for Adelaide) would be in honor of her Dad.
