Just wondering if anyone is like me and is sad they will never use a particular baby name!
Mine is olive !! I long for a baby olive but no more babies for us!

I've always loved the name Rowan because it's my favourite type of tree but it's become so popular recently that I don't think I'll use it now :(

@Roselilly36

I love the name Nigel no one calls they baby Nigel these days. I also love Maria, you don’t hear of babies called Maria either.
I know a Maria who is 9!

Patrick for me, dc2 was a dd and our last. Such a lovely name for both a little boy and an adult.

Guy.
We added it to DS''s names when he was 7.
It cost £40 via a local solicitor to get it added.
It completely ameliorated that yearning.
He is now 22 and has always accepted he has 2 middle names ( and they go really well).
Have you ever thought about that as an option OP?
One of the best things we've ever done ( and a lot cheaper than having another child, hoping it would be a boy!)

Vivienne Rose

I had a boy

Hallie

I have two DDs and they have both been given our favourite girl names. When we were umming about having a third, I set my heart on Hallie and now we’ve decided to stick at two I’m sad we won’t have the opportunity to use it.

Luna. I loved the name long ago but then everyone started giving thst name to their dogs😐.

I have two boys and will have no more so never got the chance to contemplate using it anyway.

Zander

Una

They would be such cool people 😎

Lysander and Vita. I think I’m just bitter about Vita because he’s said that he does actually like the name. He can’t imagine calling a baby girl that because he thinks of a 350lb NFL player.

I also always wanted to use my grandfather’s name as a middle name, but the name has a bad association for my husband so we can’t use it.

UrbanMage · 03/02/2022 16:14

Sebastian and Dorian for boys. I was hoping to have another child, but it didn’t happen when it was a ‘more suitable’ time and to be honest, my pregnancy with DD was a nightmare.

But I still love the names

elp30 · 03/02/2022 16:21

I had hoped for a fourth child to name either "Tomasita" for my grandmother or a son called, "José Luís" for my favorite uncle.

It was never going to happen because my English husband would have vetoed the Spanish names since he still doesn't pronounce my Spanish name correctly (after 29 years) and because after having our third child, we realized we were not cut out to have more.

weegiemum · 03/02/2022 16:44

Matthew.

It was our boy pick for dc1 - turned out to be dd1

It wasn't our boy pick for dc2, we chose something we thought was nicer (and it was the right choice! He's 20 today!!)

It was our boy pick again for dc3 - but that was dd2.

I still like it but we're definitely well past the baby stage now

mumonthehill · 03/02/2022 16:49

Hebe and clementine for girls but I had boys. Also Gilbert and Gideon both I love but neither felt the one when we had both ds’s.

Fangdrew · 03/02/2022 16:50

Matthew ❤️ so sweet. I don’t know why it’s not more popular.

MrsSteveMcDonald · 03/02/2022 16:52

Stanley and Peter. There are other names I like such as Morwenna but it's awkward to shorten

NeedAHoliday2021 · 03/02/2022 16:52

Meredith - I have 3 girls but only came across this name and loved it after they were born. Might get a cat.

olivehater · 03/02/2022 16:58

Felicity. Always love the name as grew up with the good life and was a fan of felicity kendal. But I felt it was becoming too popular and it is.
But still feel a bit sad.

Mumofgirls2017 · 03/02/2022 17:06

Piper because it just doesn’t go with my other kids names!

Elvis because not brave enough.

Clover because OH hates!

DeadButDelicious · 03/02/2022 17:06

I'm not having anymore, I'm more than ok with it (sent DH off to get the snip with a cheery smile and a wave 😂) but a little bit of me is a tiny bit sad I didn't get to use Rhea for a little girl and Vincent for a boy.
