For a girl.
Remi Josephine Lucille
To join siblings Amelie and Louie, any thoughts?

I only know one Remi. A really cool woman in her 40s. I like it a lot.

GreenClock · 04/12/2021 10:07

I immediately thought of the remedial thing too. Although that might be regional.

k4523 · 04/12/2021 10:12

I think of Remifentanil too. I do think it's a nice name tho.

WowIlikereallyhateyou · 04/12/2021 10:14

My little male spynx cat is called Remy,

Heepers · 04/12/2021 10:15

Remi is a boy's name I think.

Heepers · 04/12/2021 10:16

What about Romy?

whattodo2019 · 04/12/2021 10:18

I have two friends with dogs called
Remi, so it's a no from from me.

allofthecheese · 04/12/2021 10:19

I really like it and for a girl too. What about Rumi?

MrsFin · 04/12/2021 10:21

It's a boy's name.
I think of Remi Martin when I hear it.

VerveClique · 04/12/2021 10:30

Remy is a type of hair extension.

Maybe romilly?

WinterCarlisle · 04/12/2021 12:04

@MauveMavis maybe Remi could have a twin brother called Alf…..Grin

DukkaTheHallsWithBoughsOfHolly · 04/12/2021 13:02

Remo/remi/rem was also an insult when I was at school too, sadly.

inloveagain2022 · 04/12/2021 13:18

Popular Nigerian name. Unisex.

CherryRedDMs · 04/12/2021 13:22

I know a little girl called Remi.
Unusual to have three siblings with the same sound at the end of the name but why not.

TrashyPanda · 04/12/2021 13:23

Boys name
Rat in Disney film

bowlingalleyblues · 04/12/2021 13:27

It’s a unisex Nigerian (Yoruba) name but also a male name in French. I like the name but as Josephine and Lucille are French female names they sound odd together: like David Jane Susan.

Lollipoppit · 04/12/2021 15:24

Seems a bit of a marmite name, which is fine as names like Elsie and Olivia aren't to my taste.
I've seen a couple of recent girl birth announcements with Remi for a name, so I think it will be less unusual for a girl soon although for some it isn't already.
The rat connection is fine, my daughter has pet rats so we are rat friendly here.

Josephine is in honour of my dad, John who passed away a couple of months ago. I'm not keen on it as a first name as I'm not keen on Jo as a nickname.
Lucille cannot be a first name as Amelie goes by Lilly in the family and Lilly, Louie and Lucy sounds silly.
She can switch to one of the middle names when older if she hates it.

I think Remi with an i as a girls name. Like Toni vs Tony. I would assume girl. It’s adorable and my favorite from your list. Amelie and Louie are also super cute

StiltonVanDeKamp · 05/12/2021 00:41

@GiltEdges

The only association I make with Remy is the Dr character in the TV series House... or at least I think that's what she was called. I don't think it's awful, or exclusively a boy's name.
Same association here. I kind of like it.
nocoolnamesleft · 05/12/2021 00:43

@MauveMavis

Remi is the common abbreviation for an opiate medication Remifentanil used during anaesthesia/ ICU sedation.

Anyone who works in anaesthetics, hospital pharmacy or intensive care wouldn't hear it without thinking of that.

This might not bother you but I thought you should know.

Yeah, my first thought was "middle name Fentanil", but only a minority of people would think of that.
H03bags · 05/12/2021 11:41

Remi is nice, i think I commonly unisex in the U.K. There is also Romi/Romy more commonly used for girls.

DemBonesDemBones · 05/12/2021 21:09

@BigYellowHat no one said anything about a differing opinion being wrong, I was talking about you saying you 'always take the piss behind their back.' That's thoroughly unpleasant.

HundredMilesAnHour · 07/12/2021 01:48

Remi is a common French male name. Given you already have DC with French names, everyone will assume you have a DS rather than DD.

You might not care but think of your DD as she grows up and as an adult having people expecting a male. It becomes annoying.

Saltyquiche · 07/12/2021 01:54

Like it. Romily is also nice
