Hi all,

My hubby and I are almost set on calling our baby girl Delilah. We both really like it and think that it's a pretty name. Plus a lot of you probably know the song Hey there Delilah. One of the lyrics is "what's it like in New York City" and we just realised that we want to name her Delilah, and we got engaged in NYC. It just gave it more special meaning.

Our second option is lorelei, which we also love but I think I might be leaning towards Delilah more. We can always save Lorelei for baby number 2 if we have another girl in the future.

Thoughts? Which one do you prefer?

Yes, Dahlia reminds me of that awful murder.

Also with Dahlia there's the two pronunciations, day-lia (British), vs dah-lia (American). Could cause confusion.

Not as pretty as Delilah anyway IMO.

Lorelei
@Fivebeanchilli didn't Samson then take down their temple while they were praying and killed everyone? That's how my DGM used to tell the story. Her name was Dalila, Delilah in my language, so she used to like telling it Smile
Yes because his hair had regrown whilst in prison so he was strong again. I used to enjoy winding my vicar up by asking "so would you consider him the world's first suicide bomber/terrorist?"
