@vodkaredbullgirl

Hmm
Would you be spelling that with or without the accent?
AlwaysLatte · 23/10/2021 03:14

We would definitely be choosing Georgiana if we had a girl!

vodkaredbullgirl · 23/10/2021 03:16

without

Shasha17 · 23/10/2021 03:32

Thank you for the ideas! I love Raphael but it's DB's name!

Felicity and Harriet are very pretty! Suzie is adorable - is Susanna pretty or dated?

Georgiana gorgeous but got a Georgina in the close family. My favourite so far has to be Hmm, though - I'd use the accent, of course Grin

Maybe, maybe not. But just, for a moment, consider how rude your comment is if OP isn't.

Sorry, we can't a name oue children Lily-Mae and Archie Smile

I chose my children's names from the Bible. Are you always this ignorant and uneducated about different religions and cultures?

Samson is sooo cool! I love Benedict but it also has a 'Ben' - do you think that's okay with the Ben in Reuben?

Winifred!!! I adore Winnie. Beatrice is also beautiful! I adore Beatrix too!

Sapphire is amazing too but I'm not cool enough to pull it off Grin

I was on the money with Samson then!

Yes! But I'd be open to non-biblical names too!

It's funny that the poster above was being snarky about the names, as Reuben is number 40 in the baby name charts, very common. Tabitha is increasingly popular and always suggested on here, and Phineas is known as Phin. Finley is the name of basically every baby boy I've met recently, so it's odd that Fin (Finley) is fine but Phin is somehow not.

But I wont take it personally. There's always someone waiting for an opportunity to be vile on Mumsnet Grin

If you're going Biblical, I also like (boys):
Azriel/Azrael
Benaiah
Enoch
Barnabus
Theophilus (shortens nicely to Theo or Phil)

(Girls):
Drusilla (works beautifully with Tabitha, and Dru as a shortening is really cool)
Junia
Ruth

Some people are absolutely terrified of being taken in by a non-genuine poster, and would rather risk upsetting a genuine one than appearing hoodwinked by a disingenuous one. This leads them to cry 'troll' whenever anyone posts something even slightly unusual. I don't get it, personally.

I really like the names you've picked. They are unusual, but still recognisable, which is I think what a lot of parents look for in a name.

Thank you for your kind words! I think you're right. Another thing is that on Mumsnet, you can't win, so it's easy not to take it personally. Whether you're asking about a name like Lily, a poster will say it's boring. Choose an uncommon name, a poster will say it's try-hard or yooneek. A modern name, a poster will call tacky or 'American' (in a negative way). A very old name, a poster will call pretentious, etc. I feel that whatever name I had mentioned, someone would have had something negative to say!

You say you love Harriet, Felicity & that you adore Winnie OP- I know of three sisters in a family with these names. Felicity gets called Fliss and Winnie's full name is Winter.
