@JuneJuly

You say you love Harriet, Felicity & that you adore Winnie OP- I know of three sisters in a family with these names. Felicity gets called Fliss and Winnie's full name is Winter.
Oh really! These names sound gorgeous together! Think I prefer Winter to Winifred actually!

Damaris- pretty phonetically. Dah-mahr-is but said quickly. Hard to explain! I know a little Damaris, though I had heard of the name before she was born. Really unusual name but also very pretty and not made up! Damaris was more common amongst the Puritans apparently. The Damaris that I know is feisty and very bright and engaging.

I also love Lysander (not heard of it before so off to Google it!), Lucian, Caspian and Audrey! Lovely names!

@philandbill, does your friend put the emphasis on the first or second second syllable? Like DAmaris or DaMAris? I much prefer the first way but it's beautiful either way! 😍

Zaccheus?! As in the tax collector everyone despised? 😀

In Ireland, children preparing for First Communion learn a song that starts with 'Zaccheus was a greedy little man...'.

None of these names are to my personal taste (but they'd be quite unusual here in Ireland anyway) but I think some of the biblical name suggestions work well, Samson & Hebe especially.

Chunkymenrock · 23/10/2021 08:37

OP, Damaris has the emphasis on the first syllable, so DAMaris. My friend's daughter is called it.

2reefsin30knots · 23/10/2021 08:38

I think Susannah would work really well.

I'd say stick with the Biblical theme, so that DC 4 doesn't feel the odd one out. Personally ,I really love the Old Testament women's names - Esther, Rachael, Ruth - but I appreciate you might want something more unusual. The Acts of the Apostles are a rich hunting ground for names that are Biblical but uncommon!

Another vote for Miriam (My sister) and Solomon

for a girl Prisca or Priska from 2 TIMOTHY 4:19
Keziah (old testament, silly meaning but sounds lovely)

for a boy Gabriel
Azriel / Azrael ( Also in Golden Compass so not too unusual)
Levi
as he is the youngest Joseph, nn Joey would be cute
I like Shadrack (Daniel's friend) but not met any in UK
