To rhyme with 'layer' or ' payer'

Considering it but not sure. Don't like Thea

Hate

EdmontinaDonsAutumnalHues · 07/10/2021 17:43

It’s missing a consonant.

shallIswim · 07/10/2021 17:46

it sounds weak when you say it aloud

ladygindiva · 07/10/2021 17:46

I like it. I know a young adult one. Also like Tia / Teah, and Ria/ Rhia.

weekend2021 · 07/10/2021 17:46

Makes me think of Taya from MAFSUK. I then uncontrollably break into song as per Mel & Kim circa 1987 grin]

Toottooot · 07/10/2021 17:51

Surely you need the R on the end or nobody will pronounce correctly. Awful either way.

user1493494961 · 07/10/2021 17:56

Awful.

elenacampana · 07/10/2021 17:57

No no no.

IhateBoswell · 07/10/2021 18:00

I then uncontrollably break into song as per Mel & Kim circa 1987

And that's just made me do it too 😂
So that would be a no from me 😬

boobtownrats · 07/10/2021 18:06

Absolutely awful.

Synchrony · 07/10/2021 18:09

I don't mind it. Wouldn't be surprised to hear it, although I haven't heard it before. I prefer Tanya or Tonya.

MustBeDueSomeBetterFeet · 07/10/2021 18:13

I don't think anyone would pronounce it rhyming with layer, I'd pronounce it rhyming with liar? I don't think it's got enough substance really to be a name.

TatianaBis · 07/10/2021 18:24

Love Island name,

Suzi888 · 07/10/2021 18:31

Tayah… reminds me of Toyah Wilcox. Its ok, I’m not a huge fan.

Flowersinthefireplace · 07/10/2021 18:33

It makes me think of Mel and Kim too. Instantly started singing it

KirstenBlest · 07/10/2021 18:33

Raya is nicer

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 07/10/2021 18:38

I love it!

chocolateorangeinhaler · 07/10/2021 18:44

Well my aunt had a Siamese cat called taya when I was little and I met a sales rep today called Taya and it's the first time I've met anyone with that name and now someone is asking about it in here....spooky.

tiggerwhocamefortea · 07/10/2021 18:59

Have you made it up? It's awful

DotDotDotDotDot · 07/10/2021 19:08

Not keen sorry, seems a bit forgettable. There are lots of other short names to choose with more substance I think.

melissasummerfield · 07/10/2021 19:16

Sounds like one of those made up names that ‘uneek’ parents might choose, sorry!

Aerielview · 07/10/2021 19:25

I like how it sounds, but I prefer the spelling "Tehya"

SkankingMopoke · 07/10/2021 19:27

I know a 5yo Taya (pronounced like layer). She's a lovely little girl, so I only have a positive association with the name. It isn't a name I'd choose, but it wouldn't (and didn't when I met my friend's Taya) raise an eyebrow from me.

Fluffypastelslippers · 07/10/2021 19:29

@EdmontinaDonsAutumnalHues

It’s missing a consonant.

This.

NatMoz · 07/10/2021 19:33

My name's Natalya. When my brother was a baby he couldn't say my name and called me Taya so that's all I can think about when I hear the name. I didn't actually know it was a 'real' name.
