Dated or underused classic?

Susannah
Love it but I have a name of my mums generation and have always found it dated and frumpy. Is this in the same category for babies now? Love nicknames Suzy, Zuzu, Zanna etc feel like Sue is due a comeback too but it may just be me Grin

Love it and Susie for short.

Velveteena · 10/09/2021 16:28

I like the H, makes it look more balanced.

Velveteena · 10/09/2021 16:30

And there's a great folk song with the name in the title.

I love this version by The Byrds

Elisemum · 10/09/2021 16:53

It’s nice, I like it. Underused classic

user1493494961 · 10/09/2021 17:12

It's lovely (definitely with the H)

LuluJakey1 · 10/09/2021 17:13

Sushannah?

TatianaBis · 10/09/2021 17:21

I don't love it but if you do - go for it.

Susannah of the Mounties.

DramaAlpaca · 10/09/2021 17:22

Love it.

daisypond · 10/09/2021 17:26

It’s great

RuthW · 10/09/2021 17:48

Lovely

Amdone123 · 10/09/2021 18:00

@StevieNix, I think you're right about Susan. I'm 54 and went to school with many but it is a really lovely name. ( I had the same thought the other day when I heard Peter. It seems dated but what a lovely name.)
I like Susannah, op. It's really lovely for all ages, too.

Gmooh21 · 10/09/2021 21:36

I think it's lovely. I like Susie or Anna for nicknames. It's definitely an underused classic for me and has so many nickname options.

annacondom · 10/09/2021 21:43

I quite like it, but with the h ending. Also Johannah. Not Sue, though.

35andThriving · 10/09/2021 22:16

I like it.

DespairingHomeowner · 10/09/2021 22:38

Classic! Prefer without the H

I know a couple of Susannah’s though - 40s age group

Ikeameatballs · 10/09/2021 22:40

I love it!

TheYearOfSmallThings · 10/09/2021 22:41

I like it but I'm not sure it's underused - my DS's reception class had two of them, both not shortened. One Polish, one English.

Forestcantrun · 10/09/2021 22:42

Love it and all the variations. Except for Sue. Don't like Sue!

SionnachRua · 10/09/2021 22:45

Definitely underused classic. I agree with preferring Susannah and a definite no to Sue!

ItsNotMeAnymore · 11/09/2021 01:25

Lovely lovely name

JohnnyEnglish · 11/09/2021 01:29

I know someone with spelling Suzanna (I think it’s a central european spelling).

Marcipex · 11/09/2021 01:35

Love it. Also Susan and Susie.

bloominglovelyorange · 11/09/2021 08:19

Love it too!

Avocadodo · 11/09/2021 08:21

Lovley!

MissMarpleRocks · 11/09/2021 08:24

I like it with the H. Gorgeous name & lots of options for shortening if wanted.
