How popular is Alexander for a baby/toddler in your area? It's been my favourite name for years even tho I don't normally like traditional names. I'm due end of November we have our girls names sorted but boys were super stuck on and keep coming back to Alex but I don't like popular names and ifs always high in the charts but people I've spoken to don't know any little Alexs so just wondering how popular it actually is

I know 4, my son who is 5 is just Alex.
My cousins son is Alexander, hes in his 20s and his brothers girlfriend/my childhood friend/ hairdresser is Alexandra, also in her 20s.
Other than my family I've taught 1 Alex years ago and he'd be around 12/13 now

I don't know of any in DC senior school and don't remember meeting any little Alex's in years. Nice name with lots of possible shortenings if you chose to

I know 4 but all adults( male and female). I know one teenage Alec which is nice and seems quite unusual.

Bear in mind that when you say his name in the house your Alexa will kick in( if you have one!)

Love the name Alex but not keen on Alexander. I’d just keep it short.

I met a little one once at a baby group, although his parents were Polish so I think he was an Aleksander. Don't know any other small ones although do work with one in his 30s.

You can see exactly how many little Alexanders were born in your region last year. In my city there's about 15 which is not really that many. There are way more than 15 primary schools here so each Alexander has a fair chance of being the only one in his year.

There were three (all girls!) in my daughters class.
