If you love it,use it.

groovergirl · 23/08/2021 07:33

Beautiful! Softer on the lips than Andrea, and the "thea" part is right on trend. Not a common name in any generation, so it won't date.

SeoultoSeoul · 23/08/2021 07:36

I associate it with the 70s, there were a few at my school. I picture Anthea Turner and those snowflake bars at her wedding.
Due a revival.

HoikingUpMyBigGirlPantss · 23/08/2021 07:41

Cringeworthy Anthea Turner. Nope from me.Sorry!

Urghhhhh · 23/08/2021 07:45

Sounds classy and special to me. I would use it!

Roselilly36 · 23/08/2021 07:50

I really love the name Anthea, classy, timeless, surprised it isn’t more popular, very rarely do you meet an Anthea. Great choice OP.

daisypond · 23/08/2021 07:59

Yes, it’s good. Unusual. I’ve never met an Anthea.

tattychicken · 23/08/2021 08:01

Lovely name but it does make think of Anthea Turner. Althea is nice too.

Orangestarfish · 23/08/2021 08:54

Makes me think of Anthea Turner. I much prefer Althea or Athena.

LadyCarolineDester · 23/08/2021 09:32

My immediate thought is someone I know aged 80 who is quite grand.

But I imagine many people will think of Anthea Turner.

Cbeebiesrehab · 23/08/2021 12:00

Unfortunately I immediately said ‘Turner’ in my head. Althea or Athena have a similar feel.

MissyB1 · 23/08/2021 12:05

I like it (and yes I remember Anthea Turner), I also like Althea, they are both nice names.

purplemunkey · 23/08/2021 12:07

Like others I also prefer Althea. I just think of Anthea Turner for Anthea. I guess that’s a generational thing though - her peers wouldn’t think that but their parents might.

Talipesmum · 23/08/2021 12:08

Lovely name - makes me think of Anthea from 5 Children and It. So a classic Edwardian name in my head. For some reason it doesn’t make me think of Anthea Turner - I think because I never hear her called just “Anthea” - she’s always referred to with both names “Anthea Turner” in my head I think!

Amz6219 · 23/08/2021 12:08

I read it as Athena and thought it was lovely, then realised and I don't like Anthea :( as PP it reminds me of Anthea Turner

I really like Athena though! :-D

seasonalremarks · 23/08/2021 12:13

Not keen. Never met a nice one sorry.

Enko · 23/08/2021 13:00

I loke it and I dont think the anthea turner issue is a problem. Ita showing your age to remember her Grin

WhoppingBigBackside · 23/08/2021 13:03

Some of us remember Anthea Redfern

WhoppingBigBackside · 23/08/2021 13:04

Give us a twirl not snowflake, that's the other Anthea

whatausername · 23/08/2021 13:06

Won't date and is even refreshing almost

DoggyMumma · 23/08/2021 13:14

It's a lovely name. The only Anthea I know is a woman at my work and she's so very awful, a real moaner , likes to corner people for a good old gripe, 😆which is so at odds with such a refreshing name.

peaceinourtime · 23/08/2021 16:00

It's great to hear positive feedback on the name Anthea. I realise that its not all that common.

DramaAlpaca · 23/08/2021 20:39

I don't like it at all, sorry.

Buttons294749 · 23/08/2021 21:11

Nice, Anthea Turner is pretty harmless/perfectly nice so who cares if people think of her

Also like Athena
