Really struggling with boys!

Got 14 weeks left until our baby boy is expected. His middle name will be John after my grandad. Our daughters name is Honor.
Not keen on anything too popular (i work in a nursery and get a lot of Archie, Oscar, Oliver, Jackson etc). Me and partner can't really find anything we really like. I like Gabriel but OH doesn't like nn Gabe, I like Colby OH not keen. I like Asa, again he doesn't like it.
Any suggestions? Ive scrolled and scrolled through name lists but nothing has clicked yet.

Fraser Dexter Otis Lewis Reuben Ellis
I like Ellis! Unfortunately surname starts with an S and I find it runs together a bit too much Sad I tend to like softer sounding names. OH said no to Otis too.

Honor is quite classic so I wouldn’t do Asa, Colby, Ellis or Otis with it.

I love Gabriel so I’d advocate for that.

If not Sebastian, Orlando, Jasper, Zach, Alex

If you have a daughter Honor and like Gabriel and Asa, my guess is you like 'virtue' type names which don't seem to work as well for boys unless you are prepared to go big and bold. And my guess is you don't want names as bold as Chance, Loyalty etc.

I love Valentine but that would take some guts. Ernest is a little dour.

Maybe something in that vein but not quite. Sterling? Victor is strong, perhaps too strong.

The problem is Honor is such a strong name its hard to follow it up.

If you like Asa what about Asher? Raphael or Michael instead of Gabriel? There may be more archangels but they're the ones I can remember.

Elijah is nice. You could look at other biblical names like Isaac and Ezra?

Honor is well known but not overused so what about some classic boys names which aren't as popular now like Peter, Christopher, Dominic, Lawrence, Patrick, Edmund?

You say what names you have suggested which DH doesn't like - what names has DH suggested? Would help to get a sense of both your tastes.

You could also print out a list of the top 1000/500/the entire ONS list of names and highlight names you like. Then compare and see if you have both highlighted any names in common?

I like Asher but not Ash as nn. I like Isaac but close family friend is Isaac. I do like biblical names. Someone else suggested Elias which I think is nice not sure if it would be an issue with our surname same as Ellis though. So difficult! OH struggles to actually 'like' anything but has some names he says are tolerable; Troy, Lincoln, Hart
