Posh, three/four syllable names for girls?

Names similar to Arabella, Ophelia, Clementine etc.

That’s all really!

Claudia, Evangeline etc came to mind as well but I don’t think they’re quite as ‘posh’, but maybe I’m wrong?

Also should add - this is for a piece of writing - so feel free to give all the suggestions you can. No real babies are being named here! The ‘posher’ the better.

Do you need a posh male name for your book? Because Ptolemy is my absolute fave posh boys name.

crumpet · 22/07/2021 22:45

Oh yes, nicknames. I’ve come across a Pooh, Carrot, Pixie, and others I can’t remember now.

Jasmine11 · 22/07/2021 22:45

Cordelia, Tabitha, Araminta, Georgina?

Crossed with @crumpet!

Picabo Street was a skier and she was about as far from posh as you get. And American.

All a bit 1920s though. More contemporary might be diminutives like Tash, Fliss, Milla, Bella, and flower names, Daisy, Rose, Campion, Willow, Lily, Juniper (Juno), Iris etc.

My first thought was Araminta.

Persephone
Ariadne

But the super-posh women I've met are all called things like Bumble or Minkie or some other ridiculous dehumanising name.
