Help! My baby has no name

We had a baby girl and I cannot think of a name. Every name we liked I just can’t seem to call her and she can’t be baby forever. Any suggestions please? We did like the more vintage/older names but am open to anything right now and prefer something that can be shortened.

Iris - I think it's just a beautiful name. Cute on a baby and small child but quite sophisticated on an adult. Makes me think of rainbows and the pretty purple flowers.

It clashes with my surname unfortunately

Don't put yourself under so much pressure, OP. DS didn't finally get his name till DH and I were actually on the Overground to the register office with him, aged eight weeks. He continued as his in-utero nickname for months, anyway.

I love Elizabeth, but my all time favourite girls name is Ivy (although can’t be shortened so might not be any good for you.)

I have a friend who wasn't officially named till she was nearly 1, her parents couldn't agree on her name.
She was called Baba by the family till she was in school, but has had her own name for a long time now so don't worry too much.

@Watermelon221 no I like your suggestions!

I will go through the thread with DH later and take note of any we like. I’ll update with our shortlist after.

Thank you everyone, so many on here we hadn’t thought of

Oh and love the name Ember. We considered it for our twins, but they were both boys so it was not relevant.
