Help! My baby has no name

We had a baby girl and I cannot think of a name. Every name we liked I just can’t seem to call her and she can’t be baby forever. Any suggestions please? We did like the more vintage/older names but am open to anything right now and prefer something that can be shortened.

Elizabeth?

This would be my go to also!
..........
Me too, you can't go wrong with that.

Please don't call her 'Baby', she is your baby, my baby or the baby but not just 'baby'. An individual!
You'll get there.

Don't be too scared of making a mistake, she will grow into whatever name you give her in about 2 days and you'll wonder why you ever worried about it.

Winifred is one of my favourites, but see screenshot

In the year my daughter was born, 13 girls were actually given the name Baby.

Some people are mental.

Jessica

Elizabeth with the nn Bessie/Betsy?

I really like Cecily, I'm not sure why DD didn't end up with that name.

Dandy0911 · 05/07/2021 12:47

My little girl is called Henley.

Not traditional or vintage but thought it throw it out there.

Also I wouldn't fuss over not being able to call your little one by their name. I found it quite odd calling my shiny newborn her name even though we knew that was her name and we always loved it.

She was 'baby, bubba, tiny girl' for the first 4-5 months. She's 8 months now and responds to her name perfectly! I think sometimes newborns need to grow into their names no matter how much you love a name.

I'm related to a Meriel, I've come across a couple (including the daughter of the British Ambassador in St Petersberg during the resolution) but she never has never met another and loves her name.

Valentina - lots of shortenings and the name of the first women in space.

Evangeline(a) OK I may have loved the House of Elliot.

You can always head to the Tudors for good old fashioned names Elizabeth, Katherine, Petronilla, Margery.
