DC2 due in 2 weeks and not 100% on any names.
Surname begins with D and is 2 syllables, would really like May as a middle name in memory of my mum.
Currently considering Tabitha (Tabby) but unsure if that sounds a bit ‘posh’ or Harriet (Hattie).
Any similar suggestions please?

Would you call her May? It's v popular as a middle name or hyphenated with something else in front of it but it seems less often used as a first name in its own right?

Ughmaybenot · 28/06/2021 19:10

Ah I love the name Harriet, it’s lovely.
Some off the top of my head, Lydia, Felicity, Georgina, Josephine, Imogen, Cressida, Beatrice.

I do like May but think prefer it as a middle name.
Great suggestions thank you.
Do people think Tabitha is a bit ‘posh’?!

Tabitha is a beautiful name, classy, definitely not overly 'posh'

toastofthetown · 28/06/2021 19:43

I don't think Tabitha is too posh at all to be honest. It's just a lovely normal name. Just wondering, what to you mean by not too common. You said you liked Penelope, but that was 41st most popular name in in England and Wales last year. For me, that would be too popular, but I'm nor sure where your cut off point it. Just a side note the Darkgreener website is great for quickly checking a name's popularity and quickly seeing if it is on an upward trajectory. Here are names you might like, all out of the top 300.
