Alice??

Please tell me it goes as I am running out of options! Loved Olive but many pointed out they are different style names.
Also like Ivy.
We have a one syllable surname.

I like both Alice and Ivy although I think Ivy goes a bit better with Sofia as there is a repeated s sound at the end of Alice and beginning of Sofia.

SoapboxFox · 05/06/2021 08:32

Both of them would go well. Alicia would work too.

daisypond · 05/06/2021 09:35

I think Alice looks odd if you’re using the Spanish/Portuguese etc spelling of the English Sophia. Otherwise they would be good. Alicia goes better.

Ava

SpongebobNoPants · 05/06/2021 09:39

Alicia is really chavvy sounding, please don’t do this.
Don’t worry too much about the Spanish spelling of Sofia, it’s been watered down by being used so much and Anglicised over the last decade or so and is a really popular name.

I love Olive!

I know several sisters with a Sofia...
Sofia & Sara
Sofia & Katherine
Sofia & Julia
Sofia & Isobel

Isabella, Arabella, Francesca, Emilia

I'd say Alice goes better with Sofia than Ivy does.
More ideas: Sofia and Eliza. Willow. Hannah. Imogen. Grace. Clara.Poppy
Isabel. Olivia. Alissa. Jasmine.

Alicia is really chavvy sounding, please don’t do this.

I know one Alicia and she isn't at all 'chavvy', quite the opposite. It's nice when pronounced A-LISS-ee-a. I don't like it pronounced A-LEESH-a though.

one of my nieces is Sophia Alice!

Sofía and Alice sound good together.

Other siblings I have heard of a Sofia/ Sophia are:
Phoebe
Amelia
Juliette
Charlotte
Madeleine

partyatthepalace · 05/06/2021 13:39

Alice and Ivy are both nice and go well -

Francesca, Grace, Beatrice (Bea), Lucy, Alicia (as Pp says pronounced with 4 syllables it is deffo not chavvy!), Helena, Jasmine, Emma, Clementine, Anna/bel, Lois all sound good

Or if you don’t mind 2 s names then Stella, Serena or Susannah could work too

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 05/06/2021 18:07

I think Alice and Sofia go well together if that matters - both classic and fairly well used internationally. Olive does feel much more dated and Ivy very trendy in comparison to me.

Other names like Sofia in style (international and/or classic) to me would be Anna, Emma, Clara, Helena, Isabella, Maria, Eva, Hannah, Elena, Emilia, Isabel, Olivia, Julia and Lara.

StealthPolarBear · 05/06/2021 18:09

Sofia and Alice or Sofia and olive go well

I’m Anna and my daughter is Matilda!

I was thinking of A-LEESH-A which is not nice 😂
I agree A-LISS-ee-a is nice

JosephineDeBeauharnais · 05/06/2021 18:15

Imogen.

NewlyGranny · 05/06/2021 18:16

Claudia, pronounced the Italian way to sound like cloudier would be a great match, I think, and balance a monosyllabic surname well. Unless the surname is Clark, I guess. Or Day.

salcombebabe · 05/06/2021 18:53

Eve?

Dominica21 · 05/06/2021 19:03

Sofia and Lena

Junipersky · 05/06/2021 19:19

I would say either Anna, Rosa or Clara.

dancinfeet · 05/06/2021 19:42

Anya, Elisa or Irisa

PiuVinoPerFavore · 05/06/2021 20:12

Alice is a pretty name and goes well with Sofia
