Alice??

Please tell me it goes as I am running out of options! Loved Olive but many pointed out they are different style names.
Also like Ivy.
We have a one syllable surname.

I love Alice - and also Alicia and Alexia

SHB2021 · 06/06/2021 13:29

Alice is lovely ☺️
Lucie goes well too I think

MagicSummer · 06/06/2021 13:34

Carla, Sylvie, Helena, Heidi, Lucille?

inpixiehollow · 06/06/2021 13:42

Alice, Ivy, Isla, Ava, Holly

highlighteryellow · 07/06/2021 16:30

I think Alice goes well.

Isabelle could work?

Myusernameisnotmyusernameno · 07/06/2021 16:32

Without saying too much if i had another dd Wink I would go for Matilda or Laura

spookybitches · 07/06/2021 17:27

@SpongebobNoPants

*Anna Matilda Olivia* I’m Anna and my daughter is Matilda!

I know one Alicia and she isn't at all 'chavvy', quite the opposite. It's nice when pronounced A-LISS-ee-a. I don't like it pronounced A-LEESH-a though

I was thinking of A-LEESH-A which is not nice 😂
I agree A-LISS-ee-a is nice

I'd spell the Alyssia
Brazilianut · 07/06/2021 17:52

Lara

Grace

Checkingout811 · 10/06/2021 07:11

I know Sofia & Eva
Sofia & Gia

I think as you’ve not used the English spelling of Sophia, it goes better with similar names as opposed to Ivy Alice etc

LynetteScavo · 10/06/2021 07:24

As well as Alice & Grace, Olivia;
Florence
Imogen
Juliet
Claudia

katielou987 · 10/06/2021 08:18

Love Alice 🥰 and think it goes beautifully with Sofia.
Sofia and Alice is perfect x

CherryonBiscuit · 10/06/2021 09:17

Sofia and Olive sound lovely
Why would you care if they "match" or not! Actually - They match because they're both lovely names!

Myusernameisnotmyusernameno · 14/06/2021 11:55

@Checkingout811

I know Sofia & Eva Sofia & Gia

I think as you’ve not used the English spelling of Sophia, it goes better with similar names as opposed to Ivy Alice etc

I don't understand this
Checkingout811 · 14/06/2021 13:05

I have family in Italy. I have several cousins & friends of the family called Sofia. Their sisters are Gia, Milania, Eva. Other names popular in Italy.

I also know of Sophia’s in England. Their sisters have names more common in England like Alice etc

Sophia is spelt Sofia in Italy, Spain, Mexico etc
More common in England to be spelt with PH and matched with other common names in England.

Checkingout811 · 14/06/2021 13:05

That was for @Myusernameisnotmyusernameno

Myusernameisnotmyusernameno · 14/06/2021 13:21

Thanks. That makes sense. I have a Sofia so that's why I asked. My DP has Polish roots, grandfather so that's why we chose it. But I wouldn't discount a more 'English' sounding name if we gave her a sibling.

Viviennemary · 14/06/2021 13:22

I like both Ivy and Alice. What about Iris or Elsie.

DoingItMyself · 14/06/2021 13:23

Sister for Sofia is Naira.

Checkingout811 · 14/06/2021 13:24

@Myusernameisnotmyusernameno it’s a beautiful name. I wanted it for DC2 but he turned out to be a boy and it wouldn’t of suited him Grin I have Eva which is usually hated on mumsnet but we love it.

Myusernameisnotmyusernameno · 14/06/2021 13:34

@Checkingout811 aah thanks. I don't think it would've suited him ha ha. My DP is the only one out of his siblings to have a Polish first name and it is very Polish so I wanted to carry it on but not complicate it too much. I like Zosia or Zofia but preferred Sofia. It really suits her as well. Middle name is Rose after my nan. If she hadn't been Sofia she would have been Grace
Eva is a beautiful name. It's got a very graceful sound to it. Don't understand why MN don't like it Hmm

Geamhradh · 14/06/2021 13:36

The one I know has an older sister called Gabriella.
Otherwise, Olivia, Alexandra, Georgina, that sort of vibe-.

AlackAlasAlackaday · 14/06/2021 13:42

I know a Sofia and Arianna.

Checkingout811 · 14/06/2021 15:12

@Myusernameisnotmyusernameno thank you! No neither do I, I think it’s because it’s in the top 10 and it’s associated with Evie & Ava but I think it’s prettier than the others.
A went to school with a girl who has a Polish name; Kasia (kasha) which I think is very pretty too. That could go quite nicely with Sofia.
