Indecisive over girls names!

Just looking for some opinions.
We have sons Noah and Jacob (not chosen for biblical reference, we just loved both names).
We are surprised but delighted to be expecting a girl! We loved our boys names instantly after finding out the sex. But we can't seen to find a girls name we love and we feel we are doing her an injustice by not having her name sorted yet.
So I was just wondering what you thought of our 3 top contenders......

• Darcey
• Lily Rose (Lily Rose would be the first name, just without a hyphen because I don't like hyphens!)
• Harper (I worry this name is used more by "young trendy parents" and we are neither!)

Thank you

Lily or Rose, not Lily Rose

Harper is not used by trendy parents I can assure you.

Darcey is lovely.

Standrewsschool · 04/05/2021 21:08

They have a different feel to your boys names, more trendy and less traditional.

I like Darcey best of the three.

AnxiousAnnie86 · 04/05/2021 21:12

I like Darcey Best we have darcey on our list, end Delilah?

What about eve or Claudia? To keep on theme?

AnxiousAnnie86 · 04/05/2021 21:13

And Delilah sorry x

NuffSaidSam · 04/05/2021 21:18

Agree with PP they have a different feel to the boys names.

I like Harper best. I think Lily is nice too.

MooseMoose · 04/05/2021 21:18

They have a very different vibe to your son's names. Darcey is probably the best one. But, if i'm being brutally honest, they all feel a bit downmarket to me, especially Harper.

Lily is nice, Rose is beautiful, but definitely not Lily Rose. How about:

Rosa
Rosalie
Lila
Leila / Layla
Lyra
Rowan

mediciempire · 04/05/2021 21:24

I like Harper.

Noah, Jacob and Harper.

It reminds me of Harper Lee so I don't really see it as trendy. Nice name.

NotRainingToday · 04/05/2021 21:26

I also love Noah and Jacob. I would probably stay old testament (not religious) and go with Rebecca or Sarah or Myriam.

Lelophants · 04/05/2021 21:27

Darcey

OddsNSodsBitsNBobs · 04/05/2021 21:29

Darcey is the best.

Other suggestions;

Dulcie
Lilia
Piper

Threelittlebirds1 · 04/05/2021 21:31

Lily is my favourite but not Lily Rose- I would pick one or the other.
I'm not keen on Harper or Darcey
Your boys names are lovely. I don't think you're doing her an injustice at all by not having her name picked yet! Better to take your time.

Cbeebiesrehab · 04/05/2021 22:02

Very different vibe to your sons. I never really understand the two names as a first name with no hyphen, because in my mind you can only have one ‘first name’, but that could be me just being pedantic. Darcey is the best from your list but I never know how to spell it.

Elouera · 04/05/2021 22:09

All are far removed from your sons names!

Darcey- I know 2, but they are both adult men! Never knew it was unisex. Theirs are spelt D'Arcy though.

• Lily Rose. Either Lily or Rose then one as a middle name- why the double barrel and no hyphen? Just use 1 name!

• Harper- Other than the Beckham connection, I always thought it had turned into a chavvy name?

Favourite is Rose, then Lily.

Colourcones · 04/05/2021 22:13

They do seem very different from your boys names which I think are lovely.
Maybe Martha ?

user1493494961 · 04/05/2021 22:18

I think Lily goes best with Noah and Jacob. Not keen on Darcey and Harper is awful.

yikesanotherbooboo · 04/05/2021 22:29

Rose or Lily
I'm not a fan of Harper or Darcey ,

palmstreesandoceanbreeze · 04/05/2021 22:29

Thank you everyone so far.
I know a few of you are trying to be helpful with suggesting biblical girls names, but we really don't want another biblical name and don't really like any of the biblical girls names if I'm honest.

Lily!

BeesAnkles · 04/05/2021 22:33

Darcey and Harper are gorgeous names.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 04/05/2021 22:44

Of the three, Lily Rose works best with your sons names imo as it seems the more traditional like Noah and Jacob (Harper and Darcy sound more trendy in comparison). Just be aware that once she's older she may choose to just go by Lily for simplicity (or so her name doesn't sound hyphenated, if that's not what she likes).

Mehoooole · 04/05/2021 22:46

Noah, Jacab and Rose?

TenThousandSpoons · 04/05/2021 23:01

Lily or Rose, not both.

Marcis · 04/05/2021 23:03

I really wouldn’t go for any- they are really different to your boys names, much less classic. I echo previous sentiments that I would associate the names with coming from a lower socioeconomic group than the parents of Noah and Jacob...

Lily on its own is nice, Lucy, Rose, Hannah, Chloe? Holly, Leah? Lena, Megan? Jessica, Paige?

Are you bothered about names being top 100?

IsItAllOverYetPlease · 04/05/2021 23:15

I know you say you don't want a biblical name but that just made me think of other biblical names. I like Hannah and think it goes well with Noah and Jacob. Darcey is the nicest of the ones you have listed.

LizJamIsFab · 04/05/2021 23:22

Sorry to be boringly consistent with pp but Lily or Rose. Preferably Rose or Rosa.

What about
Ella
Isla
Emily
Chloe
