Does sound like a cheap care home name, or a synthetic soft cheese.

FFS, NO!

Somethingkindaoooo · 22/03/2021 21:24

Anyone know if there will be a new series of Anne with an E?
I love that they chose Ahead by a Century as the theme. Sigh... great books.

Please don't name your child Avonlea

NameChangedForThisFeb21 · 22/03/2021 21:25

Only if you are giving birth to a nursing home.

Or a dairy farm.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 22/03/2021 21:26

🤣 ffs!

Seafog · 22/03/2021 21:26

@AStrangerToHerself it was a fab show! I grew up in Ontario, where they filmed most of it, and met the cast, as they summered near our farm.
Cedric Smith (Alec King) bought my pumpkin at the Fall fair one year. BlushAh, my youthful claim to fame, hahah!
Years later, I moved to Nova Scotia, and got to go and visit PEI, that whole area is gorgeous!

Grin Please don’t. If you want the Anne of Avonlea connection there are many nice names from the books.
yellowlorry123 · 23/03/2021 09:40

Is it a housing estate in bristol?

EmbarrassingMama · 23/03/2021 14:31

Avonlea Borough Council

Nope.

tigertubbie · 23/03/2021 14:46

Sounds like something my mum would say when she used to name everyone in the village.

Want your roots doing? Call Hair Tanya and see if she can fit you in.
Smell gas? Call Gas Dave.
Saw Pub John in the shop, he says hi.
Drug store Dawn's son goes to your school, do you know him?
Bus driver Tracey knows him.
Oh, and Avon Lea is popping round later with my foot scrub. Can you give her the money I have left it on the fridge.

KellyMarieTunstall2 · 23/03/2021 14:49

Anne of green gables, I like it, have you considered Marilla?
@Seafog Wow how amazing, I’m jealous. Uncle Alex was so sweet I’m glad he is nice in real life. My favorite was Felicity she was so pretty. I would love to visit the Island too.
Thanks Grin

PattyPan · 23/03/2021 20:50

Avalon is just as bad! Another fictional placename. No.

Craftycorvid · 23/03/2021 20:54

Hm, nope. Reminiscent of a B&B somewhere like Torquay - there’d be flock wallpaper, a strange hush and a pervasive whiff of bacon!

ArtemisiaGentle · 23/03/2021 20:56

Ava Amelie Leila Yvonne Leah

Not Avonlea.
