Naming our daughter Constance

What are people’s thoughts/opinions on this name please? 🤔 Any suggestions on this or similar names would be fantastic or names that would go with it (middle names etc)

I immediately thought of continence (incontinence). Sorry.

I like Connie as a nickname. Con isn't great really though.

I love Constance and Connie. I would go for a classic middle name like Emma.

I love it, I only know one and she’s a teen now.

I know one nn Connie. When I first heard her name I was a bit but actually it’s really grown on me. Family not at all posh.

Also like nn Connie. DP loves that it also shortens to Stanzi in some countries.

I think it’s pretty easy to match to a middle name, you could go for good solid Constance Elizabeth type combos, or full on Victorian revival like Constance Violet type thing - or have something classical like Constance Julia.

Constance is quite weighty, so it needs something to balance that - I like light names like Lara wouldn’t work so well.

Theres an aunt in our family called Constance Ursula and I really love it. I like Connie too.

I like it. Prefer Con to Connie.

It's ok but a bit stuffy.

I prefer Clemency, Cornelia or Cordelia.

I love it. Had I looked at it in a baby name book, I'd have pulled a face and though it too Victorian, but I met a little Constance at a school parents meeting, she'll be about 3 now. It really suited her and I thought how much I liked it. Cecily has a similar give and maybe Pearl or Violet but Constance has an elegance to it.

One thing though, do you like Connie as a nickname? I don't but I suspect it'd get shortened by friends to Con or Connie once she's at school.
