Can't find a 'special' boys name

We don't know what we're having and will be keeping it a surprise, we both adore Loveday for a girl it's a special name to us and means a lot. However we are stuck for boys names that feel equally special, a few I like but don't have the YES factor are -
Etienne
Ezekiel
Griffin
Cassius
So if we love Loveday, what might we like for a boy? Any ideas?

That’s a characterful list. I’d avoid Etienne as I think people will mistake it for a girls’ name in the uk.

Personally I prefer Cassian to Cassius. I suppose Angel matches Loveday sort of? Other thoughts - Josiah, Augustus, Diggory, Tristram, Casper, Rafe, Lucian, Julius, Mathias, Marius, Leopold, Isambard, Lysander, Atticus, Montgomery, Digby, Abraham, Patricious, Wyatt, Valentine, Leonardo, Aurelio, Solomon, Barnabas, Silas, Rocco, Jerome, Jago, Rollo, Oran, Orion, Dorian, Cornelius, Bruno, Titus, Horacio, Corin, Gawain, Lancelot, Gillies, Romulus, Innes, Harold, Victor, Randolph, Ludovic, Aloysius, Ivan, Ivor, Tarquin, Dougray, Kester, Caradoc, Atlas, Cosmo, Seth, Saul, Francis, Amos, Lorne, Blaise, Dunstan, Duncan

If you do use Loveday I think she needs a nice middle name in case it’s too strong a flavour for her and she wants to swap,

I have a friend from university named Peregrine. He remains the coolest person I have ever met.

Loveday Hmm

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 07/03/2021 22:13

Loveday feels quite Cornish, although fairly well known. So I think your suggestion of Griffin (or Gryffyn in Cornish) works well. Cassius is also nice and unusual.

I'd also suggest Jago, Ivo, Lowen, Ruan, Constantin or Valentin (sounds nice with Loveday!)

I love the name Loveday. It's one of my favourite days, unfortunately DH was not brave enough to use it.

HairyToity · 07/03/2021 22:24

Another one I have just thought of Rowan.

Loveday is brilliant. It was on my list, but DP refused to get on board. We are keen on names with a bit of history. Our son is Magnus, but we also considered Rollo, which I see has already been suggested by a PP. I also like Loxley, Josiah, Hamish, John (so steady and masculine, but underused these days), and Tristan (if the Cornish connection is significant to you).

Some really beautiful boys names on here.

Please don't call your daughter Loveday. It's too remiss of Ian McShane.

PeskyRooks · 07/03/2021 23:30

Mortimer

Tambourina · 07/03/2021 23:31

Loveday - please no.

For boys' names, how about Luca, Zachary, Albert, Keir, Magnus?
