Valentine for a boy

First off, no he wouldn't be born in February, more like July. I just want to see your opinions on the name. Maybe some nicknames you'd use for a little boy called Valentine. We're thinking Tino or Vali so far. Thanks.

Hate it :-( and it's shortened form Val. Vali just sounds like a drug takers nickname for valium. If you want Tino I'd go for Santino which is a much nicer name all round IMO

My great great grandfather name is Valentine (born in the early 1800’s ) and some of his grandkids too

At least make it Valentin. Preferably as middle name.

My gggrandfather’s father is a bit of a mystery man to where he is from (in America) and I think him naming his son’s valentine is giving me a clue

@Blueberries0112 - You might want to message @Ismellphantoms instead, they were the one with relatives named Valentine. While I'm obsessed with names so was aware it's a very old name (likely originally used by families naming boys after the Saint, but may have been bought into slightly more prominent use after it was used by Shakespeare for characters in two of his plays); I've only personally met a Valentin and heard of a Valentino.
