I agree with this. For me Buddy and Sonny are terms of endearment, not names.

Monty is my fave

I have a cousin called Sonny, I like that. One of my son's is called Sandy, my other son was almost Spike, I like different names. Don't worry about what others think, my dad poo pooed both my boys names, but he's a knob so I didn't care anyway Grin

Sonny Is best.
Too many dogs called Buddy and Monty.
If you go for Monte he’ll spend his whole life correcting the spelling.

Is Monte "Montay"? That's what I would assume.
I don't think Buddy or Sonny are proper names, really. Though I would actually take either of them over Monty or any variation of Monty.

I like Sonny best but could be because I taught a Sonny once who was lovely so that may have influenced choice!
Monte is a bit different so would probably rank it second.
Buddy is nice for a little one but not sure would age so well.

I think Montgomery on the BC, shortened to Monty.
They would be my only choice out of those names.
