I'd go for Sophie rather than Sophia.

Sophia is overused and sounds so much fussier. Sophie's lovely and has the light simplicity of Daisy, but it's so much nicer - Daisy's a bit nothingy really.

VelvetKitty · 14/01/2021 12:24

Love Daisy!!

Sausagedog1 · 14/01/2021 13:29

Daisy

Firebird83 · 14/01/2021 18:27

Sophia

pantherrose · 14/01/2021 18:49

I love both! ( not helpful I know)

Snuffleupagus2021 · 14/01/2021 18:59

I love Sophie tbh - Sophia slightly less for no particular reason.

Less keen on Daisy just because I like a strong name and as others have said, Daisy is a bit cutesy.

Imissmoominmama · 14/01/2021 19:10

@Sway19- that was a bit rude!

emmie841 · 14/01/2021 19:23

@Sway19 I don't think it's helpful or kind to pass comments like this.

I'm sure Daisy the forensic pathologist is excellent and respected in her role.
I don't judge a person by their name, I do judge those who judge others by theirs though - narrow minded springs to mind.
I went to university with a Daisy, the only Daisy I knew then and I was so envious of her name!

daisypond · 14/01/2021 19:43

Sophia. I’m not keen on Daisy. There are worse names, though.

Jellington · 14/01/2021 19:44

Love them both

Changedname81 · 14/01/2021 19:53

@Sway19 wow what a nasty comment, hopefully it’s just isolation getting to you and you’re not actually a spiteful person?

Fwiw Daisy is the name of my younger sister who we lost when she was just 6 (I was a fair bit older at 14). Our Daisy was into everything but particularly loved helping my dad out with mechanics (he was a tractor mechanic). She was bright, chatty and happy and all the things you’d expect a Daisy to be. I like to think she was a glorious namesake for the flower, not the other way around Grin for that reason I’d choose Daisy.

Sophia is also lovely too - what middle names are you considering?

KY2021 · 14/01/2021 19:56

Sophia

Not relevant but I always think if they're fair then Sophie is more fitting and if they're dark then Sophia. No idea where that came from but I thought it once and it's stuck 😄

KellyLorraine · 14/01/2021 20:07

Sophia

Orangesarenottheonlyfruit · 14/01/2021 20:10

I know a Daisy that is a barrister, certainly not cutesy or twee. More like poised and cool.
But I like both names.

Bluesername · 14/01/2021 20:48

I love both. Sophia Daisy would be lovely.

MercyBodle · 15/01/2021 12:23

I like both but would prefer to be called Sophia.

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 15/01/2021 12:40

Sophia. All day long Smile

CharlieBoo · 16/01/2021 15:31

I have a Daisy but I also love the name Sophia..

partyatthepalace · 16/01/2021 15:36

They are very different names. Sophia is grown up and with a long rich history, Daisy is a cutesy flower name that also used to be a nn for Margaret.

I think Daisy is naff on an adult, so would try and pick a slightly more sophisticated flower name like Jasmine or Iris. Sophia I think is lovely, but if it’s popularity puts you off then perhaps something with a similar feel like Serena or Seraphina.

Joolsin · 16/01/2021 15:44

Daisy by a mile. My mid-20s Daisy is an artisan baker and not in the least bit twee or cutesy.

Sophia/Sophie are boring names. Maybe Sophia was elegant at one stage, but now it's just over-used.

Trickyboy · 16/01/2021 18:43

Daisy the forensic pathologist 'oh dear' ???

I for one am hugely proud. Google Forensic science regulator and search 'Daisy' in the list of Accredited forensic pathologists.. there are 2. One is mine. !

ParisJeTAime · 16/01/2021 18:49

So you should be @Trickyboy! That isn't an easy profession to get into, at all. She must be incredibly bright. Pay no heed to comments on here from those who are....less bright Wink.

(Also, maybe think about changing username in case you say anything controversial elsewhere on the site, just in case your last post is too identifying)!

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 17/01/2021 14:27

Daisy is too twee for me. Sophia is Ok but prefer Sophie over both...

feelingverylazytoday · 17/01/2021 14:52

@Sway19

Daisy the forensic pathologist - oh dear!
Oh fuck off. Who cares as long as she can do her job properly? It's Daisy for me.
