Harry

I like them all though! Nice list!

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 13/01/2021 18:29

They are all fine.

Alexander the best
George the worst
The others in between

Ithinkhedidit · 13/01/2021 18:34

I like George the best- always been a favourite of mine.
Max - love this too.
Alexander - classic, strong name.
Jack - nice.
James - I like this but don't like Jamie.
Harry - only one I dislike. No real reason, just don't like the sound of any Harry-esque names (Harrison, Harriet etc.). I do like Henry as an alternative.

TreacleHart · 13/01/2021 18:36

Alexander 4
Harry 5
Max 6
Jack 3
George 1
James 2

LadyCatStark · 13/01/2021 18:46

They’re all quite similar in style so I rank them all the same: not helpful sorry!

GretaSheen · 13/01/2021 18:49

All nice enough names, if a little boring.

James would be my top pick at a push.

Monsterjam · 13/01/2021 18:49

Harry i really dislike. Alex is my favourite

2021welcome · 13/01/2021 18:55

All good names apart from Jack

PlantPotting · 13/01/2021 18:59

I love all these names. Favourites are James and George

KirstenBlest · 13/01/2021 19:06

None of them are rank. Smile

Alexander - very popular, know too many, too long. Don't like Xander
Harry - too many friends have used it
Max - 2nd choice
Jack - too many friends have used it
George - fine, but I wouldn't pick it
James - 1st choice

tiers4fears · 13/01/2021 19:20

Alexander 1
Harry 5
Max 4
Jack 2
George 6
James 3

Difficult to do though, as I like all of those names.
I think I've ranked George and Harry slightly lower as I've come across quite a lot with those names in the last 3 or 4 years.
I do like Max, but it does sound like a 'shortening' and I'm not keen on any of the long versions BUT I'm only really trying to find a reason, as I do like them all.

17caterpillars1mouse · 13/01/2021 19:39

James - lovely classic but doesn't seem overused at all
Jack - has always seemed a cool name to have
Alexander - I like it, though find Alex a bit meh. Love Xander though
Max - like it but prefer the others
George - not a fan, way too many of them in my local area
Harry - really don't like. I find it very dull and unimaginative

Onlinedilema · 13/01/2021 19:52

Alexander - I really like this name, very classic.
James again classic.
Jack - ok inoffensive, easy to say and spell.
Harry - pleasant enough, uncomplicated
Max- a bit meh for me, it's not classic although it's been around a bit.
George- I like this the least, can't explain why. I've always found it quite an ugly name.

Babydust13 · 13/01/2021 19:57

Max
George
Jack
James
Harry
Alexander

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 13/01/2021 20:22

1.Alexander - very classic and international, loads of nn choices but not top10 popular - what's not to like?
5.Harry - okay but very popular, and prefer as a nn for traditional Henry
3.Max - lovely but again I'm generally not as fond of nn's on the BC (so would prefer Maximilian)
4.Jack - very nice if popular, but (again) I like best as a nn for traditional John
6.George- classic but I've just never liked the sound much (Georgie - porgy = pudding like)
2.James - ultimate classic boys name, will never date and has finally fallen out of the top 20 so not overused anymore imo

speedyhedgehog · 13/01/2021 21:04

Love Alexander - I have one! Then Max then James.
Only one I really don't like is Harry. When the above mentioned Alexander was in a kindergarten overseas he insisted he had a friend named Hairy. Wouldn't have it his name was Harry. I mentioned this to his teacher so other kids didn't pick up on the mispronounciation and then poor kid might have it stick as a nickname.
Teacher say 'aahhh! I'll be more careful how I pronounce it' . In a New Zealand drawl it really does sound like Hairy. I really hadn't clicked ☺️

Chilldonaldchill · 13/01/2021 21:09

Alexander - my favourite. I love this. Alex, Xander or Ali are all good nn's.
Harry - I like this too.
Jack - I have met four Jacks in my life - I know it's super popular but it really isn't common where I am (n London). The ones I know are 19, 16, 15 and 15. I really like it.
Max - the ones I know are unpleasant but I like the name. I prefer it as a nn for Maxim.
James - is ok. I find it dull.
George - I'm not a fan

inquietant · 13/01/2021 21:11

James
...
The rest

kittenpeak · 13/01/2021 21:17

Don’t worry too much about what others think. When people look at names they think about their own surname, How popular the name is in their area, what the middle name might be, names of any siblings etc.
