Help me name a 4th boy!

I’m really struggling with names as I have three boys already so with their first names and middle names I’ve pretty much used up all the names I really like!

I like Oscar and Arthur but those have both been vetoed. I also like Atticus and Otto, but not sure if Atticus is a big pretentious and Otto is an odd choice since we have no German links. If I went for either of those I’d want to give the baby an uncontroversial middle name in case he hated his first name.

Please help me with suggestions for other names I might like or opinions on Atticus and Otto!

We considered Otto (along with Rolo) but decided it was too out there for us.
Ds1 as a classic name and we’d settled on either Alexander or Christopher (kit). As it happened , he was a she!
I don’t like atticus. I do like Otto but not sure it it goes with your other names.
X

SilverOtter · 05/12/2020 20:37

I think William, Sebastian, George and Otto flows well togetherSmile

Europilgrim · 05/12/2020 20:39

My opinion is basically what you wrote Atticus is a big pretentious and Otto is an odd choice since we have no German links Sorry!
I love Arthur though - definitely vetoed?

853ax · 05/12/2020 20:44

Not a big fan Atticus like Otto. Looking at them I think Anthony or a variant would be nice, Tony, Anton, Nino.
I seem to like & associate names based on letters rounded (o,p,c) or sharp (I,l,k)

lockedownloretta · 05/12/2020 20:46

Otto is really really really awful.
Atticus is just about bearable.

Alexander? Reuben? Matthew? Daniel? Jacob?

Gremlinpoop · 05/12/2020 20:49

I quite like Otto but fish called wonder came to mind.
Felix
Alexander
Oliver
Albert
Monty
Hugo/ Hugh
Milo/ miles
Benedict (Ned/Ben)
Hector
Frederick

ABabyPanda · 05/12/2020 20:51

I don’t like them with your existing children’s names! I feel like this naming my third boy, cannot decide at all...

JauntyMcGinty · 05/12/2020 20:54

Not keen on Atticus. I like Otto. I don't think a name's historic origin is too important. 2020 and all that. I understand you want it to flow with your older boys' names. With that in mind I suggest Luca but just because I love that name.

Frazzled2207 · 05/12/2020 20:58

I love Atticus but it’s a very strong reference to a To kill a Mockingbird
Not keen on Ottos
Lucas, Leo, Nathaniel, Theo, Zachary, Henry. They all go nicely with your others.

Congratulations. I have 2 boys and could not cope with more!! 😂

BergamotMouse · 05/12/2020 21:00

I have a Sebastian. Other contenders for us were Arthur, Oscar and Gabriel.

BigBaublesGalore · 05/12/2020 21:01

My son is called Caspar and he's fab! Loves his name and we get many compliments on it :)

beavisandbutthead · 05/12/2020 21:03

I like Arthur also Henry, hugo, Arlo, Gabriel , Julian, Toby,

fedup2017 · 05/12/2020 21:12

I have 4 boys.
By the time I got to naming number 4 I had a string of girls names..... But no boy ones left we both liked.
We ended up re-using one of the previously used middle names. Tbh despite the naming boards obsession about middle.names we don't really use ours day to day.
Ds4 doesn't care that his first name is the same as DS3 s middle name. Ds3 not bothered either. It's caused no confusion at all ( it's William fwiw)

docemmett · 05/12/2020 21:15

Otto sounds a bit pretentious (sorry!). Atticus is great!
Suggestions Barnaby and Edward

EasternDailyStress · 05/12/2020 21:19

I really like Scandinavian names, have you had a look at any? I love the name Cnut, but couldn't give it to a child for obvious reasons!

How about Anders? Lars?

Charleyhorses · 05/12/2020 21:20

Atticus and Otto are a bit far ouT considering your other names.
Alexander goes nicely .
Mark or Marcus?

EasternDailyStress · 05/12/2020 21:20

BTW I think Lawrence goes well with your other names.

MondeoFan · 05/12/2020 21:21

Do you call them Will, Seb, George?

If so I like James or Harry

Dislike Casper and Otto

Like Atticus - Atti for short.
Kirstie Allsop has an Atlas and calls him Atti for short

MessAllOver · 05/12/2020 21:23

Not a fan of either Otto or Atticus, sorry (you did ask for opinions!). Atticus is the better choice, if you must.

With William, Sebastian and George, I might choose one of the following:

  • Robert
  • Benedict
  • Patrick
  • Ivo
  • Nicholas
  • Anthony
  • Leo
  • Rafael
  • Laurie
  • Maximilian
Aria999 · 05/12/2020 21:23

Agree they don't really go with the other names.

Agree James is good. Or Oliver?

Chilldonaldchill · 05/12/2020 21:39

I love Atticus. I think it fits well with the others.
I don't dislike Otto but don't love it.
Apologies for any that have already been vetoed:
Otis
Felix
Lucian
Gabriel
Kit/Christopher/Christian
Mattias
Flynn
Benedict
Dominic
Rufus
Reuben

22DMcN · 05/12/2020 21:55

I link Otto with Anne Frank’s father - and sadness.

Isaac
Elliott
Daniel
My brother is Tim - he hates his name.
Love the three boys’ names you have already.
Good luck.

blowinahoolie · 05/12/2020 22:01

Have four boys myself, so remember it well. Didn't know my 4th was a boy until I was on the operating table 🤣

You have beautiful classic names for boys. How about Thomas?

EileenGC · 05/12/2020 22:04

@Anniemabel

Theo is also a contender, Jasper has been vetoed, along with Casper!

My other kids are William, Sebastian and George.

I'm a big Formula 1 fan and those three names follow that theme in my head Grin, so I would suggest another F1 related name such as

Charles
Max (Maximilian?)
Alex/Alexander (one of my all time favourites)

That said, I love Theo (my brother is Theodore and I think it's a great name) and Arthur is fab too. Not so keen on Atticus and Otto. I live in Germany and Otto is quite old fashioned here!

blowinahoolie · 05/12/2020 22:17

Theo I absolutely love too, it blends in well with your other boys names.
