Clarabel? And Clara for short?

Sweet name

I much prefer Clara, I'm not keen on 'bel' endings, they seem a bit frilly.

I'm not sure why but I would be tempted to pronounce this Cla-ra-bell, rather than Clara-bell.

Isn't that the name of one of the fussy carriages in Thomas the Tank Engine? I'm not a fan I'm afraid

Not keen on on Clarabel, personally - it does make me think of a cow and seems a bit frilly.

I like just Clara or Christabel though (Christabel reminds me of the suffragette and Coleridge poem so seems less frilly somehow).

If you like Clara for short anyway then why not call her Clara Belle or use Isabel or Annabel as a middle name?

Clara is much nicer. Or, as @IamnotwhouthinkIam suggests, Christabel. Clarabel does sound like a cow!
