My first DS is due in December (already have 3 girls) DH really wants to name him Throckmorton after his cousin. I am concerned that Throckmorton doesn't really work in the UK, ( DH is American) should I insist its a middle name and use a 'British' first name instead. Our daughters all have classic 'Elizabeth' type names. What do you think?

Tell DH to introduce himself to people over the next couple of months as Throckmorton. Then see how long he still thinks it’s a good name.

Thank you for all your replies! Have shown this thread to DH, he has now agreed that Throckmorton will be a middle name. We have now decided on the first name Matthew.
