Conrad and ds is Conrad so I really like it Grin

He is 18 now. It is a real marmite name (as this thread shows) however we have met 1 other a dad at his primary school who on meeting him commented that af age46 this was the first time he had met a Conrad

People know the name and they often comment its a strong solid name and how much ds suits his name.

However when we announced his name we had quite a few "oh" and my mother (never one to be subtle) announced thats a HORRIBLE name. FFW 11 years she came to stay and told me. "I always liked the name Conrad its such a good strong name" she had connected it to her grandson who she loved so got used to it.

Friends have a Willfred he is known as Wilf he is a lovely lad but Its not one of my preferred names

forgot to say Conrad is known as Conrad or an abriviation of his surname noone has ever shortened his name bar his dad and I who when he was younger used Radskiroo that got shortened to Roo and he is still at times called Roo but only by his sisters or parents

Conrad is nice

Conrad sounds really cool but potentially bratty. Wilfred is a dreadfully weak sounding name. It's the Wilf bit - all wilty. What about Wolfgang? Or Amadeus? I would have loved to have ever had a chance to use Amadeus as a middle name.

Conrad. I don't like Wilfred, the nd me of an old grandad eating Worther's Originals.

SourcePlease · 10/10/2020 18:25

Why would you do that to a child?

Lol. What a dick!

Neither name is particularly out there or anything!

I much prefer Conrad. Really cool name.

Wilfred I think. Can be Wilf, Will or Fred.
Both ok though.
