Isobel for me, or Isabel if not.

NameChange84 · 07/09/2020 20:20

Isabel.

I have a really strong dislike for isObel and Isabelle looks a bit ott.

twirlywooly · 07/09/2020 20:34

I love Isobel - is much more standard spelling up in Scotland. I think it's much prettier

LilacSloth · 07/09/2020 20:47

Isobel.

seriousandloyal · 07/09/2020 20:49

Isabelle like in French

gubbbbbddaaaa · 07/09/2020 20:50

Belle .. I like it as a name / nickname

Flappingflamingo · 07/09/2020 21:12

I have Isabel so that obviously gets my vote!

AnnaSW1 · 07/09/2020 21:13

Isabelle

lavenderlove · 07/09/2020 21:15

Isobel

TheyThoughtItWasAllOver · 07/09/2020 21:15

Isabelle is my favourite and also how I would assume it's spelt if I couldn't ask the person but I had to write it for some reason.
Isobel makes me think isobars.

DramaAlpaca · 07/09/2020 21:27

I like both Isabel and Isobel, with a slight preference for Isabel.

Isabelle is too fussy for me, it just doesn't need all those letters.

Bear6 · 07/09/2020 21:30

Isabelle. I read Isobel as ‘I’ ‘SO’ ‘BEL’

Britannah · 07/09/2020 21:38

Isobel 100%

Brighterthansunflowers · 07/09/2020 23:16

I love Isobel

Not keen on Isabelle I think it’s too frilly

sibbys · 07/09/2020 23:22

Isabel

FizzyGreenWater · 08/09/2020 08:47

Isobel, beautiful.
Isabel in the middle
Isabelle - silly in the extreme

CaffiSaliMali · 08/09/2020 11:16

Isabel. Followed by Isobel and then Isabelle. I used to know an Ysabelle and it kept getting misspelled!

I like Isabel as it's short and to the point, no superfluous letters.

I would pronounce Isabel, Isobel and Isabelle all the same - Is-uh-bell.

TheChristmasPrincess · 08/09/2020 11:19

Isobel

Changedname81 · 08/09/2020 11:19

MonsteraDeliciosa · 08/09/2020 11:43

Another vote for Isobel.

I used to teach an Isobell. So very wrong!

Fifthtimelucky · 08/09/2020 11:56

Isobel for me too. Isabel is ok and Isabelle is too frilly, though strangely I do quite like Isabella.

Don't like Ishbel at all - it needs three syllables I think.

Don't most people pronounce Isobel and Isabel the same? I certainly do.

TitianaTitsling · 08/09/2020 11:59

Definitely Isobel, although that may be due to my dislike of the nn Isa that is popular in West Scotland!

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 08/09/2020 19:08

Isobel

Bruce2 · 09/09/2020 20:55

Isobel

We named our daughter Annabelle and wished we'd gone for Annabel instead now. The belle is too fussy, everyone's right.
Was 10 years ago when I was younger and more impressionable with others opinions.

My gran was Ishbel, we're Scottish and quite popular back in the day

Others we like were at time were

Isodora
Arabelle
