Just Bill?

Hello, DS2 will come in a fortnights time. His two sisters are Emily and Alice, brother is George. I would be ok with William on the birth certificate if it wasn’t for the awful nickname Will (will you come here, will you do that etc), as I only liking Bill/Billy. So do people think it’s fine to just put Bill on the birth certificate? Thanks

Put William on the BC. Then he and you have a choice. My father's first name was William. My mother called him Bill, as did his work colleagues. BUT all his local friends and family used his Welsh middle name, to separate him from his Dad, (who was also William!).

All his ex-army mates called him Weg, as that was his initials.

In short, - just Bill is a bit limited -it's much more fun to have options!
