For a girl. Just curious. :)

Sorry it's a no from me

change2birds · 01/09/2020 23:17

@Danni290 Any reasoning?

I also have a dog called Juno. She's 10, and we named her before we'd heard of the film. She also gets called JuJu, Junebug, June, Junie, Joop Joop, Jubbus, Doodoo, and Juniper. She must be very confused by her various names! It's a great name for dog or baby 😄!

change2birds · 01/09/2020 23:33

@Bajalaluna "Doodoo, come here, you're in trouble!" That'll be entertaining amongst the nursery children 😂😂

Still I like pets, I like babies, and I like nicknames so it's a win all round lol! x

I hate it. It (unreasonably) reminds me of that really shit teen film. I prefer Hera.

ruby29 · 01/09/2020 23:39

I think it’s just a really beautiful name. Fairly unusual but not so much that people don’t recognise it. Very elegant sounding I think.
I love my daughters name too and can’t imagine her called anything else now but I think if I was choosing again would go for Juno.
Good Luck! Such an exciting time.

change2birds · 01/09/2020 23:47

@ruby29 Not sure if your name is Ruby or if just a username, but I actually like Ruby as a name!

Combined with my last name though, my kid will have quite a strident name hahaha! Still got no clue what to do if I end up having all boys though! xx

Oh NASA's Juno exploration of Jupiter sprung into my mind as soon as I read it. What about Luna?

change2birds · 01/09/2020 23:52

@milkybebe Luna is a gorgeous name! Absolutely might use it as a middle name, unfortunately if I used it as a first name it would relate to a real-life place so it's gotta be off the list sadly! Maybe for grandbabies or other relatives or something haha xx

To be honest no lol it just isn't a nice sounding name to me. And does remind me of the film Juno, the only place I ever heard the name.

SpaceSharkTea · 02/09/2020 09:44

I love it

As PP has said, it does sound a little like "do you know" depending on where you are in the county, but as long as you think about what middle name goes with it then it's fab

notso · 02/09/2020 09:46

It's lovely but it doesn't work in some accents.

MiniDoofa · 02/09/2020 09:52

Exactly that with the accents....in mine it sounds like a reduction of “do you know” which I’d be worried might lead to teasing. “Juno what time the bus comes?” etc. Sorry!!

change2birds · 02/09/2020 13:06

I get the "do you know / Juno" thing, in the country I am living it sounds a little more like "do-ye-know" so might be able to avoid teasing?
To be fair, if the naming of children is solely around the teasing element, I don't think anyone would name their kid Richard, Fanny etc etc ! 😂

I don't like it. I don't know why but it makes me feel uncomfortable. Maybe because of the film?
Ju no
June o
Whajuno about Juno?

Hickorydickoryspock · 02/09/2020 19:52

I think its beautiful and elegant

ZebraKid71 · 02/09/2020 20:25

My niece is Juno, I really like it. I also think juno and cara make a nice sibset.. Further down the line!

change2birds · 02/09/2020 20:51

@Hickorydickoryspock Glad you like the idea, thanks for the encouraging words :)

@ZebraKid71 I thought Juno and Cara were cute together as well! My DH really likes Cara, so maybe I'll advertise them as a set :)

Have a German/French/Dutch couple whose dd (2) is Juno. Much nicer than June, has a cool, fresh feel.

Bettie2192 · 03/09/2020 20:24

Absolutely adorable 💗

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 03/09/2020 20:27

Juno is beautiful!!

MeMeMeYou · 03/09/2020 22:58

Like but prefer Cara

Hazeldine · 03/09/2020 23:52

Honestly, I find Juno a bit faddish – sorry! I know two under 5 and also several dogs with the name as well. I can see the appeal but both Rosie (much prefer Rosa or just Rose with Rosie as a nickname) or Cara feel more timeless/classic to me. I have never met a Cara so I actually would be more surprised to meet a Cara than a Juno at this point! Good luck!

Astronica · 03/09/2020 23:57

I love Juno. It feels sassy and strong to me. I tend to prefer names like this for girls rather than frilly names.

EriAndo · 04/09/2020 00:52

I prefer your other names Rosie & Cara.
Rosa is a beautiful name too.
Juno just sounds a little masculine to me. And it may get shortened to Ju, like my sister’s boy Jude and she HATES that!
