We have just found out we are having a girl! Ds is Rupert so need a classic name to go with it for DD.
We liked the following
Nancy
Edith

Until we came a cross Mabel which feels lovely and like it fits more. What do you think of Mabel Grace?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MyCatReallyIsAGit · 24/08/2020 23:45

Annabelle was the first name that sprang to mind for me, followed by Arabella.

Mabel is a pretty name though!

How about Polly?

PeaceAndHarmoneeee · 24/08/2020 23:52

Caroline was the first name I thought of.

Thecazelets · 24/08/2020 23:55

Another vote for Jemima

LivingMyBestLifeNOT · 24/08/2020 23:56

Martha
Matildha
Delilah
Nancy
are nice.
Not sure on Mabel

Sawyersfishbiscuits · 25/08/2020 11:37

Rupert needs a Jemima or Matilda type name.

Jemima Grace sounds sweet.

You could always go for Persephone? It doesn't sound out of place with Rupert and Percie/Percy is a cute NN.

Charlotte (Lottie) also works.

Whatsyourflava · 25/08/2020 12:10

Agree that Jemima would work well

ilikebooksandplants · 25/08/2020 12:33

Rupert and Emily go well together in my opinion.

I hate Grace as a middle name. It is SO overdone. I don’t mind it as a first name.

user5656 · 25/08/2020 12:40

Camilla
Miranda
Lucinda
Cressida

Pearsapiece · 25/08/2020 14:47

Thanks all.
As I said upthread, Grace is a family name (it's actually my middle name) so it's staying out.
A lot of these arnt to my taste but I appreciate the ideas. Jemima definitely isn't for me, although a lovely name.
Lots to think about.
Its so difficult to name a child and my Rupert isn't the 'standard' Rupert bless him so I think that's why a few names suggested don't fit for me but seem like they would!

I think Mabel Grace sounds lovely, and I think Rupert and Mabel go really well together. Very cute.

My cousin has a Rupert and his sister is Bridget.

icouldwriteabook · 25/08/2020 20:13

I love Mabel Grace.
I love Nancy grace
I like Edith grace

But I mostly love Nancy. Or Mabel. Nancy first

Hated it the first time I heard it, now I think it’s so cute and definitely an ‘grows with the age’ name.

Whatever you choose your children will be so cute together

AdelaidePlace · 26/08/2020 10:45

Did you decide Op?
Always great to have a response when posters have made suggestions.

Sorry I don’t like Mabel and another name I think truly awful is Maud.

Imogen, Harriet, Elizabeth, Lucy and Rose are favourites here.

dangerrabbit · 27/08/2020 07:40

Persephone

00Sassy · 27/08/2020 07:41

I’ve looked through and don’t think it’s been mentioned yet so I’d like to suggest Heidi.

Congratulations on your news of a sister for Rupert!

macdhui · 27/08/2020 07:47

Romilly and Rupert would sound so cute!

Some others that you may like are: Opal, Emma, Tessa, Ottillie, Norah, Viviane, Odette, Elanora, Margo and Pippa.

Mabel Grace is absolutely stunning though so if you like it, I say go with that!
