Lucy or Penny?

We are currently expecting a baby. Don't know the sex yet. We have a boys name set in stone but not a girls.
What are people's thoughts on Penny and Lucy?

We have also thrown around the idea of Francesca, known as Frankie after a family member but not too sure.
Thanks in advance

Either! I'm a Lucy and my sister is a Penny so I'm a bit biased Smile

@alwaystea that's great. Your mum had good taste in names

Let us know what you decide @supersonicginandtonic

Both Lucy and Penny are lovely and I agree , don't make Lucy all frilly and fussy Lucille or whatever. It's so beautiful as it is

CharlieBoo · 21/08/2020 20:37

All these nasty Lucy’s out there lol! I much prefer it to either of the other names...

MikeUniformMike · 21/08/2020 21:01

Lucinda and Lucille just to use a perfectly nice full name as a nn, or god forbid, Luciana.

Just call her Lucy.

Love Francesca and know one who is non Chessy

Not keen on penny or Lucy (though if I had to pick one of these Lucy is better)

newmum332 · 21/08/2020 23:09

Definitely Lucy! There are so so many Penny’s around at the moment and Lucy is a much nicer name in my opinion.

Danniiaddy · 22/08/2020 01:11

Lucy - also like it spelled the French way Lucie.
Not keen on Penny. It’s a bit old fashioned IMO.

LarkDescending · 22/08/2020 12:46

Lucy is lovely.

Mashingthecompost · 22/08/2020 18:05

Lucy is one that, even though I knew a few in school in 90s, I'm not tired of. I know of one Penny and one Lucy of primary school age but I think Penny is going to increase in popularity so people will notice it more, whereas Lucy has been around in friendship circles a while so won't feel as (I hate this word, so sorry) bandwagon. Better word suggestions are welcome!

You cannot go wrong with Lucy.

supersonicginandtonic · 22/08/2020 22:10

I thinks it's About 75% Lucy at the moment
