Has anyone heard of this name?

Would you pronounce it Kay or Kie - lor?

Boy or girl?

I'd pronounce it to rhyme with Sailor.
Never heard of it as a name and no idea if it's for a boy or a girl.
The previous poster who said that it's a mis- spelling of Kayla may be correct but as that isn't a real name either who can tell?

IdblowJonSnow · 15/08/2020 22:55

Really awful OP. It has even trumped what I previously thought the worst name ever (Gobnat if anyone is interested.)
Apologies to Irish people out there, perhaps it's pronounced differently to how it would seem and actually sounds beautiful!

Any name you "come across on a tv show" is generally a bad idea.

Transitory73 · 15/08/2020 23:34

Sounds like something the Rooney's would call their kids.

Exactly this. Colleen has probably bagsied it for her next kid. All of whom have names beginning with K. One poor sod is called Klay, I think!

Immigrantsong · 15/08/2020 23:36

With my accent it would sound like Gaylord.

So maybe avoid?

GarlicSoup · 15/08/2020 23:38

Grim

I know a Kayler and would pronounce Kailor the same way.

It’s a boys name.

DoTheMaccaroni · 16/08/2020 23:03

I know if a Kyler. I’d pronounce Kailor the same way because it looks like a blend of Kai and Taylor which gets pronounced Tayler

HolyPillow · 16/08/2020 23:13

@IdblowJonSnow, it’s Gobnait, but pronounced, roughly, GUB-nut, and Irish people find it fully as appalling as you do. (Which is a shame, as St Gobnait was very cool, patron of beekeepers and ironworkers, and supposed to have had a swarm of killer bees she set on miscreants.)
