Baby boy name - modern and international

Carmelova85 · 15/08/2020 09:57

We are expecting our first DC and will find our the gender soon.
We decided very quickly on the girl name - both in love with name Lara.
However we really struggle with boy name, although everyone thinks I'm having a boy...

As I'm not British we want the name that is easy to pronounce abroad.

We want something modern, not super sophisticated or tacky, similar vibe to Lara, but we can't agree on the name... My DH son from his previous relationship is called Leo and love this name but obviously can't use it. Any ideas?

DH ideas:

  • Lewis
  • Hugo
  • Sebastian
  • Logan
  • Robin

My list:

  • Arlo
  • Franco
  • Kai
  • River
  • Alex
  • Adam
  • Zachary

Any suggestions?

Anders & Raphael are quite international names that have a modern feel.

From your DH list I like Sebastián and Hugo.
None of your names are my style, sorry!

Shayisgreat · 15/08/2020 10:37

Adam is one of my favourite names and I like Hugo as well. None of the others appeal to me but they're all grand names.

Most of your names aren't my style either, sorry. Arlo is very very popular and Franco unless you have Spanish/Italian background it might sound odd.

Alex would probably be my number one as you can't go wrong with that one

Many of the suggestions will sound different depending on which language it is used.

How about Lars for a boy instead of Lara for a girl or something like Erik.

Whatsyourflava · 15/08/2020 13:35

Laurence nn Laurie
