Sylvia is horrible.
Not keen on Sylvie.

DramaAlpaca · 13/08/2020 18:38

It's lovely. I think it's pretty but not in a fussy way.

Tillygetsit · 13/08/2020 22:47

Pretty but I do prefer Sylvia which I love.

CabernetSoWhat · 13/08/2020 22:51

Gorgeous, bright and tinkly sounding name. Makes me think of fairies with silvery wings.

Too short to be considered fussy.

Whatsyourflava · 14/08/2020 00:40

Nice nams

Motherofmonsters · 14/08/2020 10:27

I know two babies called Sylvie,

I like it but if you're looking for something unique I think it might be the new buzzy name

WithIcePlease · 14/08/2020 10:30

Beautiful
I was considering this for DD2 who is now 17
I don't think it's fussy at all

Spied · 14/08/2020 10:32

Like it. Preferable to Sylvia.

Mogtheforgetfulmum · 14/08/2020 10:42

Thank you!! So glad so many people seem to like it as I wasn't sure. I don't know any Sylvie's and the only Sylvia I know is now in her 80s! I'm surprised so many people prefer Sylvia- which has made me consider it.

I think it's nice.

I prefer Sylvia, but definitely get that it is more dated. I like it because of Sylvia Plath really, although not a happy namesake I suppose. My DH said no to Sylvia because his great aunt was called that, so he said it was always an older lady's name to him. I totally disagree, but hey ho!

AllPlayedOut · 14/08/2020 12:44

Sylvie is lovely. Much nicer than Sylvia.

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 14/08/2020 15:09
