How many Graces do you know?

Following on from a precious thread this morning - I am swaying towards Grace to be known as Gracie. I originally really didn’t want an overused name but I think Grace is used much more in the middle then as a first name?

How many do you know? How old? Do any have Gracie as their BC name?

Thank you for your help...it sure is tough naming a human.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

None , my DD ( 20s ) middle name is Grace , after my Grandma who would be 111 had she still been around
IMHO Grace is lovely , Gracie isn't

I can think of 4 Gracies off the top of my head that we know. Oldest 8 and youngest couple are babies. All Gracie on BC and none are known as just Grace. In fact I don’t think I know a grace other than one adult woman, about a gazillion children with the middle name though.

  1. Age 13, 11 and 6.
bosies · 06/08/2020 22:19

I have one who is 2. We call her Gracie sometimes. As a baby I took her to lots of baby groups etc and didn't meet another one. None in her nursery class either. We chose it because we felt it was pretty timeless.

Quite a few and it’s the go to hyphenated middle name with Ava/Eva/Amelia/Olivia. I really don’t like Gracie, it’s far too cutesy for a grown up.

Marcipex · 06/08/2020 22:24

The youngest I know is 7. Grace, known as Gracie.
I have looked after many many more, who are now 13-15.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 06/08/2020 22:26

3 , 80s , 13 and 3

puzzledpiece · 06/08/2020 22:27

Beautiful3 · 06/08/2020 22:27

thirstyformore · 06/08/2020 22:30

3 in my daughters class....year 6 (2008/9 birth year)

Northernexile · 06/08/2020 22:31

I know 6, from aged from 4 to 30. The two youngest are also known as Gracie. It seems about as popular as Olivia here.

thenightsky · 06/08/2020 22:34

The only one I know was born in the first week of lockdown in March. I think its a lovely name.

minimummum · 06/08/2020 22:35

Only one. My niece she is 2.

FelicityBob · 06/08/2020 22:35

One Gracie age 4
One Grace age 5
One Grace age 12

LittleHootie · 06/08/2020 22:38

Two in reception class. One 16 year old. One 14 year old. One 8 year old. So quite a few.

clary · 06/08/2020 22:39

I was a secondary teacher until a couple of years ago, and it was an unusual class that didn't have a Grace or Gracie in. Usually Grace tbh. Probably one of the more popular names, along with Emily, Lily and Ellie. These students would now be aged 13-20.

I like the name Grace but I would worry about it not applying - I am a particularly graceless individual (always walking into things) although in fact my DD (not called Grace!) was a dancer and an athlete for years and moves very gracefully haha.

Dartsplayer · 06/08/2020 22:46

I know 4 - ages 15, 15, 10 and 8. The 10 year old is called Gracie

4forkssake · 06/08/2020 22:48

Like a pp mentioned, Grace was v popular for babies born 2005/2006 ish. My eldest, born at this time, has about 4 in their year (very small school) & I know 3 others the same age.

micc · 06/08/2020 22:51

My cousin is called Grace and I went to school with 2 I know of...
They are all mid 20s :)

GinWithRosie · 06/08/2020 23:38

7...one in her 70s, the other all in primary school. Only one of them goes by Gracie...she's now 9 and has a twin sister called Millie. The others are all 'Grace'. I know a LOT of '__-Grace' (Hannah Grace, Emily Grace etc). It's very popular as a middle name.

Timeless and beautiful 💓

june2007 · 06/08/2020 23:41

I think about 15 years ago there were quite a few, recently I haven,t met many my neice is 18 now and it,s one of her names.

AWryGiraffe · 06/08/2020 23:47

One, a child under 2.

PaganOfTheGoodTimes · 06/08/2020 23:54

I know two, a teenager who is lovely, and a seven year old who is, and I don't like to say this about children, a complete shit. An only child who hits every only child stereotype (no offence to all the lovely only children!).

CrocodileFondue · 06/08/2020 23:57

I know two Gracies and a few Graces. Not sure if Gracie is on the birth certificates though, I've never asked but I would assume not.

babydisney · 07/08/2020 01:04

My sister is called Grace, I used to attend a sports club with a grace about 4 years younger and my mums friend called her baby gracie. That's about it though.
