@sel2223 I know, it's so difficult thinking of short middle names that go! 🙈

It would be interesting to hear from anyone that has a Clementine, what middle name have you used? Xx

Oooh another Clementine thread. What a beautiful name, so elegant.
All those middle names are beautiful, I especially love the way Clementine Rose rolls off the tongue. And congratulations.

Stargazer87 · 22/07/2020 14:36

I've noticed there's been quite a few Clementine threads too however I've never come across anyone who's actually used the name and it's quite low down on the popularity lists which is strange!

I have a Clementine!
She is Clementine Elizabeth which Is long but it's a family name plus we have a very short last name.

She is now 4 and it is getting more popular (trend setter over here ;) )
It's a beautiful name and she gets loads of compliments. Suits her sunny and bright personality.

I think any middle name works, dont shy away from the long ones though because sometimes I think they sound nice.

Like Clementine Louise
I do think there will be a huge boom in this name and I think it will be on the top 100, much to my disappointment Haha but it's so worth it it's a beautiful name.
But if you are looking for something really uncommon this one I think you will start to hear more often. Names like Luna were considered a bit out there now it is so popular and in the top 10 I believe!

Churchill's wife was Clementine:) listen to Clementine by Sarah Jaffe too it will make you love it more haha

Stargazer87 · 22/07/2020 15:04

@micc It's lovely to hear from someone that has used the name...I was starting to think most people end up parking it and using a 'safer' name. I think it's such a beautiful cheerful name, I loved it for a good while now and always wanted to use it!

I've just listened to that song and it's beautiful!

Just wish I could decide on a middle name, I feel a lot of names just don't suit it...

I think if you just go with what you feel sounds nice that has a ring to it. I do like Clementine Grace :)

Stargazer87 · 22/07/2020 16:34

Using Grace as a middle name would mean she would also have a cousin with Grace as a middle name...is that an issue? I'm not sure?! 🤷🏻‍♀️

If anyone has any short name suggestions just let me know! Xx

Did a little search, how about:
Rae, Ivy, Paige, Maeve (love this), Mae, Jane, Sage, Bell, Faye, Anne.

I think these sound nice after Clementine, I really like Clementine Maeve :) hope you hear one you like a lot xx

daisypond · 22/07/2020 20:35

I don’t like short names as middle names, though they are good as first names. They just end up being filler names. I would really avoid a one-syllable name. One of my DDs has a three-syllable name. Her middle name has two syllables. I think Clementine Olivia is fine.

sel2223 · 22/07/2020 20:38

I don't think having the same middle name as a cousin is an issue. Clementine Grace is beautiful

Stargazer87 · 22/07/2020 22:19

I think out of the short names I'm preferring Clementine Grace or Hope and longer choice would be Clementine Olivia but not set on any of them! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thanks for the suggestions, I feel like most of these are going down the longer name route though...

OP posts:
BeMorePacific · 23/07/2020 12:38

Ada ♥️

Stargazer87 · 23/07/2020 13:15

So I think if going down a short name route it's out of...

Clementine Grace
Clementine Rose
Clementine Hope

Why is picking a middle name so much more difficult than an actual name? 🙈🤣

OP posts:
MojoJojo71 · 23/07/2020 18:02

How about Clementine Faith?

lukasiak · 23/07/2020 18:04

Not Rose. Double nature names are never a good look.

Stargazer87 · 23/07/2020 18:57

@lukasiak ok point taken on the double nature name...🙈

OP posts:
Stargazer87 · 23/07/2020 19:00

@MojoJojo71 Faith is nice, it's one I've considered but my husband wasn't keen!

OP posts:
NameChange30 · 23/07/2020 19:02

Are any of the names you're considering family names? I always think it's nice to use a family name as a middle name. Especially if the child is only having one surname from one side, it's nice to have a middle name from the other side.

Ideally a short one!

MrsGilly1 · 23/07/2020 19:06

Clementine Faye?
Clementine Fleur?

Out of your choices I like Clemente Grace X

YummyInMyTummy · 23/07/2020 19:19

Clementine Olivia. I disagree it needs to be a short middle name, which in my opinion would just sound like a filler. There’s something whimsical about Clementine that lends itself to being matched with a long middle name too. I love Clementine but my husband hates it - so it will be a middle name (one of two middle names). Good luck choosing!
