Down to 2 girls names

Hi,

We have been struggling with girls names. I think we are currently down to a final two:

Jasmine

Wren

Although still don't feel 'set' on either of these. Which do you prefer? Or other suggestions?

I also like (but OH doesn't): Imogen, Matilda
He likes (but I don't): Harmony, Annabelle
Would probably rather avoid ie/y names as our son already has a name ending like this.

No help as I like both Jasmine and Wren, but if pushed I’d choose Wren. My DD is Imogen other names we considered/like:
Alana
Adelaide
Evangeline
Romilly

guineapig1 · 17/07/2020 07:21

If pushed I’d pick Jasmine.
I much prefer Imogen or Annabelle though

What about Evelyn or Emmaline?

angelaEhen · 17/07/2020 07:24

I like jasmine, not sure about wren

PlantPotting · 17/07/2020 07:24

I love love love both your names!!!
Not helpful but I really can't pick. I'd be very happy if either of those names were mine

OhMyDarling · 17/07/2020 07:25

I like Imogen and Annabella

missmouse101 · 17/07/2020 07:33

Jasmine is sweet. I don't understand the love for Wren. It's a weird name. Lovely for a little bird only.

Unfollowtherules · 17/07/2020 07:47

I like Imogen and Annabelle!

Jasmine is ok but not overkeen and I don’t like Wren at all.

babynamelover · 17/07/2020 08:01

I like Wren a lot has a similar feel to Fern.

MondeoFan · 17/07/2020 08:06

I know 1,000 Jasmine's so I'll go for Wren or Imogen

Somethingvague · 17/07/2020 08:09

Thank you. I don't like Annabelle because I went to school with a really snobby girl called it, and I can't get over the connotation.
My concerns are that Jasmine is a bit Disney? And Wren maybe not very feminine or a bit 'out there'?

I like Alana, but we have a close male relative called Alan who we're not that keen on so it's a bit close! Evelyn would end up an Evie and Emmeline a bit too frilly for me - but thank you for the suggestions.

Jasmine with Wren as a middle name?

Mother names:
Millicent
Freya
Zinnia
Juliette
Faith

BackforGood · 17/07/2020 08:15

Jasmine.

To me Wren is like Blackbird or Thrush - the name of a type of bird, not a name for a person.

clpsmum · 17/07/2020 08:18

I live both and would use both! Jasmine wren though from your list I adore Matilda and that would be the winner for me

Laaalaaaa · 17/07/2020 08:18

Wren makes me think of kitchens.

elfran · 17/07/2020 08:19

I don't normally love "modern nature" names but I actually like Wren, and far prefer it to Jasmine in this case. The latter is just too Disney princess/girly for me.

Do you have a middle name chosen?

IsMiseMorag · 17/07/2020 08:20

For me, Wren is one of those names that looks so pretty written down but sounds a bit harsh when spoken. I'd hear 'Ren', short for Rene/Renee, if I heard it without knowing.

Annabel is a good one - can be used in full, or Anna, Annie, Bella, Ann...

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 17/07/2020 08:21

I love Wren!

whattodo2019 · 17/07/2020 08:22

I love Wren

underthesunagain · 17/07/2020 09:22

Jasmine! Gorgeous name!

worstwitch18 · 17/07/2020 09:32

Wren doesn't seem like a first name to me.

Jasmine is much better.

Somethingvague · 17/07/2020 09:55

Thank you for the opinions - these are all thoughts that have gone through my mind also! With my son, we were set from the start so it was easy.

I prefer Jasmine. I would imagine a Wren to be a very petite person.

Hiccupiscal · 17/07/2020 10:02

I never heard of the name wren and I love it!

WaxOnFeckOff · 17/07/2020 10:07

I prefer Jasmine to Wren.

Other suggestions:

Meredith
Marissa
Amaris
Gabrielle
Celeste
Lydia

userabcname · 17/07/2020 10:08
