What are people’s thoughts on the name George?

Love it

I'm baffled by its popularity. It makes me think of the Hanoverians, who (even if you're a rabid royalist) are not exactly the most distinguished bit of UK monarchical history, plus it's so stodgy-sounding.

If it were a musical instrument it would be something honky and obvious, like a tuba. If it were a food item, it would be a big hunk of roast beef.

Makes me think of my dad and grandfathers (yes both of them!). It’s a family name. Loads of them!

No it's not a family name.

It’s an ordinary name - not one that will go out of fashion or age badly. It’s got versions internationally (handy if you have an international family) and people can spell it.

Plus you can get Peppa Pig T-shirt’s with it on.
