Hello, due to have twin boys in a few weeks - what do people think about Alexander Samuel and Franklin George? They already have two older brothers called Joseph Charles and Nicholas Henry. Thanks Smile

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

They are in keeping with the names of your other DC.
Alex, Frank, Joe and Nick.

elemenopeeqrstuv · 01/07/2020 09:52

Lovely names and they sound nice with your other children's names.

Thistlegirl4 · 01/07/2020 10:52

I like them.

daisypond · 01/07/2020 12:07

I don’t think Franklin fits very well, really. It’s a surname-type name and the others aren’t. It’s OK, though. You could have George Franklin. Or Francis George maybe. Or something else.

Anastasia1988 · 01/07/2020 13:26

@daisypond thanks for the input - I don’t think the other way round flows very well (George Franklin) although I like both names equally. And I think Francis is a bit “wet” IMO.

I don't like Franklin or Frank.

Zombiemum07 · 01/07/2020 15:19

Not keen on Franklin. Sounds very ‘American’ to me but could be something to do with the president of the same name.

NoddingTulip · 01/07/2020 15:39

I don't mind the name Franklin but agree with PP that it just doesn't sit so well with your others and sounds a bit surname or American compared to the classic ones of your other dc.
Maybe swap the names about? So Alexander George and Samuel Franklin?

octoberfarm · 01/07/2020 15:44

Seconding PP, I think I'd do Samuel George and Alexander Franklin too. Not such a fan of Franklin, but do think George Franklin also works.

userabcname · 01/07/2020 15:44

I agree with pp - Alexander George and Samuel Franklin sounds fab!

DramaAlpaca · 01/07/2020 15:47

@KatnissK

I agree with pp - Alexander George and Samuel Franklin sounds fab!
I like these combinations much better too.

I don't like Frank/Franklin at all.

Anastasia1988 · 01/07/2020 15:54

@NoddingTulip I see what you mean about the surname thing - but it’s definitely a classic name for sure held by many powerful men in history (ie Franklin D. Roosevelt).

IndieRo · 01/07/2020 15:55

I think they are lovely names and go really well with siblings names.

Anastasia1988 · 01/07/2020 15:57

The general consensus on Franklin doesn’t seem too good - I wouldn’t be able to use Samuel as a first name as this is more of a family name - so any other suggestions I guess?

I like Franklin and I wouldnt change my mind if I really liked it, OP.

Other suggestions Alexander and Christian, Alexander and Theodore, Alexander and Louis.

MikeUniformMike · 01/07/2020 16:17

Franklin is better than Theodore. How about Donald, Ronald or Barack?

Runnerduck34 · 01/07/2020 16:55

Think Franklin gets the short straw! Love Alexander though

Photosofyou · 01/07/2020 17:03

Sorry but Franklin seems an odd choice and doesn't seem to go .
I don't like it at all.
Alexander is a great name

Phthalo · 01/07/2020 17:28

I think Alexander is a bit blah and love Franklin! What about just Frank? Could be a bit old man. I love your kids names though, 5 of them were on our lists, and we used two 😄 Also loved Joel and Dominic but they’re too close to Joseph and Nicholas?

William, Jasper, Arthur? Boys names are so hard!

daisypond · 01/07/2020 17:46

Felix. Matthew. Daniel. Benjamin or Benedict. Lucas or Luke.

user1493494961 · 01/07/2020 19:30

I don't like Franklin and also don't think it goes with your other lovely names. What about Edward, Nathaniel, Sebastian, Thomas.

ZoyaTheDestroyer · 01/07/2020 19:34

There is a strong Founding Fathers vibe from them as a pair. Are you an American history buff?

Standrewsschool · 01/07/2020 19:47

Alexander and Franklin are lovely names.

Anastasia1988 · 01/07/2020 19:50

Out of the ones people suggested - Ted/Edward and Dan/Daniel are great, Tom/Thomas is also OK but can’t get as excited about it as with the other two.

Anastasia1988 · 01/07/2020 19:50

@ZoyaTheDestroyer nope, not really sure what you’re talking about Grin
